In addition to being one of the best tufted breeds, they are the status symbol of the Veneto region, along with much more, of course.

Pretty birds. Tuft head ones cool, like Polish too.

I have had all kinds, mixed breed farm chickens my best layers. (buffs, reds) Lay in 4 months

Last batch were Dominiquers, Barred rock. Didn't lay until 6 mo. Don't sit on eggs as well either, only 1 hen of 25 would!

Foxes wiped me out, time for another McMurray order, prob some reds. Maybe a batch broilers on the side for meat birds. Like some "Easter egg" chickens sometime.

Terrible fox problem here.

Lately I have focused only on the padoanas, because I prefer them, in addition to being the oldest breed of hens made in Italy:smile:
