O'Reilly Hannity and Lumbaugh

are all members of a union...

AFTRA...

oops...

oh yeah.. so are Michelle Malkin, Annie Coultergeist, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin...

As is everyone on TV/Radio because the unions have an absolute grip on entertainment. You cant get on if your not SAG. Hell, you cant even APPLY to become an extra unless you pay and go through an unionized talent agency. Even then, you aren't allowed to have a speaking part or any other major role unless your SAG. I've been an extra on more than a few occasions. Once you do three jobs as an extra you can apply for SAG membership and pay your dues. Only then are you allowed to advance with acting or speaking parts.

they could decline the benefits of union membership.

unions make sure they're paid a minimum amount for their 'input'...

did you ever hear them complain about their unions?

and i am fully aware of the rules.. thanks.

What's your point, jillian?

She spoke before she knew what she was talking about. She was trying to make a point of hypocrisy where there was none. She entered facts into evidence not applicable to her case. She committed argumentative malpractice via intellectual ignorance. I.E. She shot herself in the intellectual foot.

With a multimillion dollar contract that spells out absolutely everything awarded to them because they have more viewers/listeners than their competition, they don't worry about Union Benefits. Their benefits are in their contracts which are negotiated by their agents/lawyers who are hired because of their influence and get paid on a commission basis. However, they cant complain about their union just as they cant complain about their company; that too is in their contract. They don't need union representation because they have their own lawyers, however, they need to pay dues because of the radio/tv stations agreement with the unions. If you were aware of the rules then you wouldn't have posted this thread. You've made absolutely no point.

I doubt if the union had much to do with Rush's salary negotiations. I don't think they could count that high.

Are you saying that members of unions can't be critical of unions? Why not? Unions are flawed and deserve some of the criticism from within and from outside. By the way I believe in good unionization and wish there was more but they do need to revamp some of their thinking imo.

Ronald Reagan was president of that union.

Ahhh the good ol days when some of the union leaders prevented their members from using the union as a tool to bring about socialism/communism. But yes, the unions have had a monopoly in the entertainment industry for a long, long, very long time.

So the Union got O'Reilly, Limbaugh, and Hannity their contracts? If that were the case wouldn't the left wing hacks of MSDNC have contracts comparable if not equal to O'Reilly's, Limbaugh, and Hannity? For this bit of partisan silliness you are awarded the.

They negotiate their own contracts, the union does nothing for them. It's a damn shame they don't live in a RTW state. If NY keeps going after the wealthy you may see the networks going to the expense of moving. That will fix those hypocrites.
