So I downloaded this game called Imperial Conquest II. It's a shareware game with the open/save features disabled. It would cost me $15 to get the full version, but the cost is not the problem. The problem is that the game was last updated in 1997, and the programmer lives in Britian. So I have no way of knowing whether the money would get to the right guy, or how long it would take.
So, my question is, does anyone know how to edit the program to allow it to save a file and open a file?

    Thanks! :)

Its most likely an ini setting if it dates back to 97. I'd be interested in taking a look at it if you can send me the file.

actually, can help you out even better. I've got a copy of the full freeware verson 1.01 for windows. It will not run in DOS. I'll figure out a way to get the zip file to you at home.
