Only 20 percent claim to be Republican

The Stock Market is not the economy. But to millions of Americans who saw their 401K retirement nestegg cut in half...it is.
It's just paper gains until you cash it in... Counting on the stock market to save you is foolish...

Most middle class Americans have their money in their houses and their retirement plans, obscure economic metrics mean nothing to them. If they have a job, their house is going up in price and their retirement is safe....they are happy

Harder and harder to be happy when you've lost your job (or feel insecure in the future of your job)... How fucking sad is that? "At least I have a job" is what a lot of Americans are saying now... Wonderful economy these democratics have given us since coming into power and controlling the pursestrings... Sunshine and roses...

And the forclosures just keep coming and coming... So you could lose your house AND your job, but hey, arent those democratics doing a great job with the economy, Average Joe?

You and many like you are living in an alternate reality... Oblivious to those around you...

If unemployment figures are 6.5 or lower and the market keeps growing to say about the 10,500-11,000 range - the folks who have invested their political future in economic failure will be the ones in the unemployment line.

Gotta have some ideas and some vision and someone who can sell them. Just screaming "the-sky-is-falling" ain't gonna cut it. As the numbers clearly reflect.

False claims in this post:

1. You have to have a political future.
2. You must own stock to have a job.
3. Unemployment figures are 6.5 or lower.
4. Economic failure only effects certain politically leaning people.
5. The "numbers" reflect someone with vision, ideas and ability to sell them.
6. Those with economic concerns have no ideas and just scream "the-sky-is-falling".
7. The market is clearly headed to the 10,500-11,000 range right now.
8. Nodoginnafight has no dog in a fight.

New ABC/WaPo poll out finds that only 20 percent of Americans claim to be Republicans, a 26-year low. Additionally, while a majority believe the country is on the wrong track, 49 percent trust Obama to make the right decisions for the country, versus 34 percent who trust Congressional Democrats, and a paltry 19 percent who trust the Congressional Republicans. (The 20 percent claim to be GOP number is apparently not in the data to which I linked, but ABC reported it on their evening newscast).

Only 20 percent claim to be Republican - Crunchy Con

I wonder whats wrong with that party.

I know, there will be personal attacks and that is getting boring, lets try to stick to this post and comment on it.

The 20% number is probably correct because the majority of the rest are FISCAL CONSERVATIVES. 49% think Obama is making the right decisions is hardly a majority and not something to be proud of. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm that 34% trust congressional democrats, who did they poll?????????? Acorn workers?????????????????:lol::cuckoo:

Good luck getting there when you have a clear anti-business President. 15 million unemployed and growing everyday. More money going to the Arts and Humanities than it did to small business which employs 70% of Americans in the no stimulus stimulus plan. Your post is laughable at best, so I am laughing out loud.:lol::lol:

BTW- get ready for the Christmas season's earnings, the market will go off a cliff.

We shall see...we shall see

Point is that the republicans have staked their political future on a failed economy. Trying to argue that positive economic growth is really a failure is not going to cut it with voters.

Obama is ahead of where Reagan was at this point in his presidency. Reagan was overwhelmingly re-elected.

Was propping up the banks and the auto industry anti- business enough for you?
Could pro-business George Bush have done any worse with the economy?

LOL it's funny that you would bring up this old poll. Do you want to know why it's funny?? It is funny because, according to the actual poll “Conservatives” Are Single-Largest Ideological Group

Thus far in 2009, Gallup has found an average of 36% of Americans considering themselves Democratic, 28% Republican, and 37% independent. When independents are pressed to say which party they lean toward, 51% of Americans identify as Democrats, 39% as Republicans, and only 9% as pure independents.

So according to your own polling data republicans and therefore righties LOSE.

Biker it's straight from the Gallup Poll you do know Gallup isn't a Republican outfit don't you? All they did was print what Gallup said.

Actually NO it's not. The website that you cited took excerpts that it wanted to spin as it ignored info that it didn't want to focus on.

After a brief search I found that article cut and paste almost word for word on several blogs but maybe you should actually check out the actual poll it was very loosely based upon instead of merely taking the site's word for it.

Well......the GOP and conservatives are famous for cherry picking........

Remember yesterday when Glenn Blech stated that because Obama had gone to Austin and hung out with Bush Sr. on volunteerism, and was encouraging the whole nation to do so, well........

According to the Weepy Douchbag Blech, we are on the way towards communism and socialism. After all, Chairman Mao called for volunteerism and so did Russia.

Nope........cons just cherry pick the data they think will support their screwed up views.

Bullshit....The mythical "surplus" was projected to occur in 2002.

Perot called this and demonstrated it was all pretty much on autopilot back in '92, and all the partisan hacks-in-the-boxes in both parties keep pretending that they're the ones who were driving the inevitable.

If you were smarter than a frisbee I would explain why this happened.....but I think you know that the reduction in the debt was all smoke, mirrors and fuzzy math.

LOL it's funny how the post before this you demanded proof from another poster and yet you haven't provided any to support your claims. I wonder why??

The only reason the debt went down ed was because Clinton's Treasury Dept. didn't issue bonds and treasury notes in late 1999 and into 2000. It certainly wasn't due to anything that boob did with economic policy. It was a Y2K issue and Clinton rightly took the cautious approach...and as a benefit that wasn't initially thought of...he ended up creating a budget surplus due to maturing bonds and lower interest payments on the National Debt. Then President Bush rightly gave that money back to the people. After all..it was OUR FUCKING MONEY to begin with.

Imagine that, no sources and no proof LOL

OK, even counting 2001 as part of 2000, a debt reduction of $50 billion is STILL a SURPLUS of $50 billion, so Dupe is STILL full of it.

OK...then why won't the Democrats do something about tort reform and malpractice insurance? That'll save us 50 billion dollars too. Why don't the Democrats want to save money? Is it because they would end up screwing their lawyer lobbyist puppetmasters?

LOL What's the matter PP? Why are you trying to change the subject. LOL

You see ed...you fucking consumate dumbass.....once again your libtard mouth engaged before your 30 second MoveOn.org sound bite brain considered the veracity of your baseless claims.

Anyone with a 5th grade education knows that CONGRESS BORROWS the entire SS surplus and places it in the general fund and then issues an IOU to the SSA....this part of the national debt is called "Intra-governmental holdings". When Bush gave money back to Americans in 2001 he gave a specific amount to single people and a specific amount to married couples with children.

YOU LIED AGAIN!!!!!!!!

You were busted again!!!

When will you learn.
You're PROJECTING again!

Bush borrowed from the SS/FICA tax SURPLUS to PAY for his tax cuts. That is REDISTRIBUTION of wealth collected from wage earners under $100,000 and given mostly to incomes over $100,000 and Capital gains Tycoons who did not contribute one penny to the SS surplus. You're a LIBERAL Socialist redistributionist!!!!

IT'S NOT THEIR MONEY!!!

The SS surplus should have been returned only to those who paid into the surplus.

You are just toooooooo brainwashed by GOP Hate-Run media to admit the truth.

[L]iberals can't win in an argument against anybody. All they can do is discredit and insult and try to literally destroy their enemies because ideologically they can't win.
Rush Limbaugh

Christ almighty...what a fucking dumb ass!!!!

Lord .... I apologize for saying edthecynic is a dumbass...even though he is....and for the starving pygmies in New Guinea.

LOL poor PP as usual when he has no valid arguments to offer he gets personal and starts attacking in the hope to drag the poster down to his level.

No one spends the social security suprplus there isn't that much to spend. They use a simple accounting trick whcih by the way if a private company did it would get them jailed for fraud.

The forces of darkness are losing.

Thank goodness.

There is hope yet or Republicans. Bush got a new job. The man who sat on the boards of three bankrupted companies and led the American economy into the toilet, is giving "motivational speeches" for businesses. A hundred thousand dollars for 40 minutes on how NOT to fail. Wish I could be there.

Upcoming Texas Business Seminar with Pres. Bush | TPM Document Collection

Oh this is really funny. I literally laughed out loud, George W, Bush being paid to give a speech on how not to fail, to a group who need to pay to become motivated.
Get Dr. Phil and lots of pills, a huge depression is soon to hit Texas and I don't mean a storm.

Every penny of the SS surplus is spent and then some, that is what a budget deficit is!!!!!!!!

And the SS surplus has been made part of the General Fund which is why I have suggested replacing Bush's job killing, socialistic, redistribution of wealth tax cuts, DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR with cuts in the payroll taxes. Something neither Right nor Left has offered.

Tax cuts are further proof of why I say, "CON$ are Wrong even when they are Right!"
They are all for tax cuts, but they want to cut the worst taxes to cut, like Cap Gains taxes.

LOL and in true PP fashion he offers NO PROOF and instead lashes out at those who try to apply his standard to him.

You demanded proof from others. All I did was apply YOUR OWN standard to you and in response you fail miserably at providing anything of substance and then to try and CYA you attack me thinking it makes up for your lack of proof. LOL

LOL the funny thing is that righties like PP tried to talk up that gallup poll that said only 21% claim to be liberal while he ignored the fact that the same poll still showed republicans losing because the majority still sided with the democrats.
