New to the game, Robert? Mitt Romney spent $20 million of his own money as a Republican candidate in 2008, after his PAC money ran out, and was prepared to spend $30 million more. But he lost in Iowa.

Hmm 30 million is a far damn cry from a billion don't ya think ummm?

I guess you missed the part about HIS OWN MONEY. I don't know what Romney's total campaign costs were after he had spent any donations. But leave it to someone not to *get* the point, which was that campaigns cost a lot of money, period, and it isn't just Democrats who spend whatever to get elected.

And spending one's own money leaves one far less beholden to a bunch of special interest donors.

Just sayin'.

To me, it says once elected, he would be willing to buy his way into getting anything he wants.

Bottom line is that MONEY needs to be removed from the entire process.

And you arrive at that conclusion how? That has to do solely with Medicare A.D.V.A.N.T.A.G.E plans, which are S.U.B.S.I.D.I.Z.E.D out of the general funding for regular Medicare. In my opinion, Medicare ADVANTAGE should be eliminated entirely. Why the hell should I pay for someone else's gramma's dentures? Which is what it amounts to.
