Rocks, you certainly have an interest in science that goes beyond the average guy on the street. Is this not at all an affront to your sensibilities? The emails of the scientists have talk of a concerted effort to blackball certain of their number for presenting dissenting views.

This is not peer review, it is prior restraint.

Until absolute empiric or mathematical evidence is produced, peer review is like a map telling those who follow where they are. If peer review is corrupted, as it obviously has been, then that map tells you not where you are, but only where you are being led.

If it is only science that is turned, that is one thing. The time of researchers is subsequently wasted. This also has implications that go beyond science and into government and society and that is where the problem rises. Now we are looking at the time and treasure of the individual that is only trying to get by. We, the individuals, end up using Ethanol, mercury light bulbs and God knows what else that have unintended consequence because scientists have guided bad decisions.

These "scientists" believe that they have found the big T Truth and as such are purveyors of a religion. All else is expendable to the final result which is to further the big T Truth. The trouble is that their Truth may not be true.

Very dangerous. Very scary.

Just as a football fan should be outraged at any attempt to rig the outcome of a Game, any game, you, as at least an amateur scientist, should be outraged at even the appearance, as this provides, of rigging this game.

The whole business has not had had the ring of truth for me since I started to delve into this a little. This is only one more log on the fire.

If it were just theoretical papers on esoteric subjects that do not affect us all, that might be overlooked. However, the danger that our descendents face from our present actions grave.

And giving the deniers ammunition through bad science is a serious offense.
