It means if you do risk drinking that water, the system of which is now privatized, your bill goes through the roof as do your electricity, gas, trash pickup etc. That's all gone. It means the meat at the market isn't inspected because hey there's money to be made, and it means that stuff the doctor gave you to try to get you over the bad water, the botulism and e coli and dysentery and the pain from the airplane accident injuries, haven't been screened for their propensity to give you cancer or your children three heads. And it means you can't get to the doctor to fix that because the roads have deteriorated to dust.

Oh and it also means the internet we're on would not have existed in the first place, nor would the power grid, but to look at it that way neither would have air travel coordination, so maybe you got away without the airplane accident, and didn't need the hospital you couldn't get to because there were no roads. Those are some of the things government does. You could look all this up in the library, except that would be gone too.

Punkin begins her work day. She has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Pumpkin's employer pays these standards because her employer doesn't want his employees to call the union. If Pumpkin is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed, she'll get a worker compensation or unemployment checks because some stupid liberal didn't think she should lose her home because of temporary misfortune.

It is noontime and Pumpkin needs to make a bank deposit so she can pay some bills. Her deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect her money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression. Pumpkin has to pay her Fannie Mae-underwritten mortgage and her below-market federal student loan because some elitist liberal decided that she and the government would be better off if she was educated and earned more money over her lifetime. Pumpkin also forgets that in addition to her federally subsidized student loans, she attended a state funded university.

Pumpkin is home from work. She plans to visit her father this evening at his farm home in the country. She gets in her car for the drive. Her car is among the safest in the world because some America-hating liberal fought for car safety standards to go along with the taxpayer funded roads, the ones that enable her to get there.

She arrives at her childhood home. Hers was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers' Home Administration because bankers didn't want to make rural loans. The house didn't have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn't belong and demanded rural electrification.

She is happy to see her father, who is now retired. Her father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, arugula-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Pumpkin wouldn't have to. Even if his house catches fire the local fire department will be there to extinguish it because some goddam socialist do-gooders invented that community service concept centuries ago, and if there's a flood, forest fire, earthquake, tornado, etc that disrupts daily life, the horrible monster "FEMA" will be on the scene with those awful "financial aid" thingies to help get a roof over his head, and while he's away from his home the police will protect it from looters, just because some godless Liberals decided that should be a community service too.

Pumpkin gets back in her car for the ride home, admiring the scenery and musing over a weekend trip to the national park, another waste of land that could have been a nice tire factory but for some commie pinkoes with their "aesthetic" mentality She turns on a talk show on a radio station which she can hear because the socialist FCC regulates the airwaves so that there is that bleeding-heart "order" rather than chaos on the dial, which means she can find the station she wants. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that the beloved conservatives have fought against every protection and benefit Pumpkin enjoys throughout her day.

Actually, in Flint Michigan, the government caused the water poisoning in the first place. It's also government that causes prices to increase, because with competition, charge as much, due to competition taking your customers if you charge too much. It's like you're trying to be economically illiterate.

You see, amazingly, if you poison the water, your customers will leave you. You know, because people don't want to be poisoned. The only thing preventing that from happening right now is government regulation, such as zoning laws, licensing, etc. It makes it harder to start a business, or outright impossible if they decide only a certain number of people can have a business in any specific location.

The water-poisoning also applies to meat sales and medicine. If you're selling something which makes your customers sick, you won't have customers anymore. Feel free to argue that you love eating poisoned meat and wouldn't just buy from somewhere else, but I don't think anyone will believe you.

The medicine industry, as it is now, and as it has been for many decades, is also the work of the government. The process of getting your medicine onto shelves is long and expensive, plus the existence of patents creates monopolies, creating a market full of medicine that's too expensive. Businesses are naturally incentivized to make their products available to as many people as possible, to make as much money as possible. They're also incentivized to have the best products, as if they don't, their competition will beat them. This is only subverted by government regulation, as regulations by design will increase the cost of production and distribution, making it harder for smaller businesses, which promotes monopolies.

As a matter of fact, ALSO independent of the government, people who verify the authenticity of a product for profit exist, and they existed long before government decided that they needed to gate products in order to promote monopolies. In fact, businesses naturally pay reviewers, so that people are encouraged to buy said product.

Well, no, actually internet exists independent of government, much like everything else. The government is inherently incapable of producing anything that it doesn't first take. The Internet makes a profit, therefor without government, if anything, you'd have more ISPs and it would be cheaper and faster. Do you think people are incapable of doing something without a license magically granting them that capability? The fact that you think things are impossible without the permission of a bunch of robbers, murderers, and kidnappers that you've never met in your life, is actually hilarious.

Roads exist independent of the government, businesses would need people to be able to travel to their stores, and would need to ship their products from place to place. The automobile industry would also need incentive for people to buy their products, thus there's incentive to build roads. The government employs private industry to build roads in the first place, they do not build roads themselves. Likewise, trade routes existed before government did, so politician scribbles were never required for travel.

Hospitals exist independent of government as well, as there's a demand for it. In fact, all of your arguments can be refuted by pointing out that demand is what creates businesses, because demand creates profit incentive. It's like you think that anything government claims to have taken responsibility for will just cease to exist because they're gone, when that's not the case, demonstrably.

Private industry built those sidewalks, and if there's a demand, people will naturally pay for the production of the product there's a demand for. For example, Kickstarter allows people to pay for producers to develop commodities there's a demand for. Mighty Number 9, for example, met every stretch Goal because people wanted it badly. Even if, hypothetically, businesses somehow see no profit incentive in building sidewalks, crowdfunding or building it yourselves is oven to work effectively. This also bypasses the economic calculation problem, which all government programs suffer from.

Punkin begins her work day. She has a good job with excellent pay, medical benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some lazy liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Again, unions are independent of government, and businesses would naturally have to provide all of those things in order to retain their skilled labor. If nobody wants to work for a business, that business will go under, or be forced to downsize. Government actually makes this worse by demanding that they hire specific amounts of people at specific cost. Something that always seems to confuse party voters is that purchasing power is not the same as any specific amount of money. If you force wages to increase(Despite only roughly 4% of people working for minimum wage), cost of living also increases, so purchasing power did not improve.

If one becomes unemployed, they could just find another job. the only thing preventing people from getting a job the day they walk in and apply is government regulation decreasing the rate of expansion, number of businesses, while also increasing cost of employment.

It is noontime and Pumpkin needs to make a bank deposit so she can pay some bills. Her deposit is federally insured by the FSLIC because some godless liberal wanted to protect her money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the Great Depression. Subsidizing education directly results in cost increases. Much like when insurance pays for a car accident(Increasing the cost of the hunk of junk that was your car, and the towing cost), colleges know that the government will 'pay for' your education, and increase cost accordingly to make more money.

Following any crisis, people have always volunteered to help others. Government is not, and has never been, required. Everyone should, indeed, take care of themselves, government is not required. It's not only not required, but also unsustainable, due to rapid expansion, thus rising cost, coupled with the economic calculation problem showing that it'll waste resources, and the law of diminishing returns demonstrating that it will gradually take in less while requiring more.
