Obligatory health insurance on the way...

    I keep hearing about this 'public option'.

    However, I fail to understand how health insurance will continue to be optional.

    It won't be optional. He said as much last night in his speech.

    But he did also say you will be fined if you don't have insurance and could pay for it.

    In short, you will be required by law to have health insurance.

    He also said there would be exemptions to this, but its still wrong on principle.

    Xenophon remembers the speech better than I and I appreciate his comments. Did the OP not lilsten to the speech or even bother to take the time to read the text of it before this post?
