Obama trumpets Asia trip as boost to US economy - Yahoo! News

"President Barack Obama's eight-day trip to Asia produced no tangible wins for the United States, though he is citing talks with Asian allies that he says could help create thousands of jobs and open new markets for American goods in the future."

    File is under jobs "saved".

Its a nine inning game and you are expecting victory in the first inning.

Obama is travelling the globe repairing a damaged US reputation. His predicessor had trampled on other countries concerns, ignored them, ridiculed them and bullied them.

The first step is to repair past insults and establish a common ground we can work from. Obama needs to reestablish trust with these countries before he can start to make significant progress.

We know that the threats and bullying of the past administration resulted in nothing. Obama is creating a new cooperative understanding that will reap future benefits

That would all be so much easier to believe if Obama had not stated a new arms argeement with Russia as a goal. Human rights in China. He pitched and pitched. Nobody was impressed.

The arms deal will get done. It has another month before it runs out.

Obama is laying the foundation for future diplomatic efforts

He has to remove the stink of Bush first...that will take some time

Here's the thing. We cant wait for the economy to get better in 2010. Jobs in 2013. Getting out of Iraq in 2012. The arms deal is dead in the water until we get other President.

Why the rush all of a sudden? I didn't see any haste in getting out when Bush was President. In fact, they had a word for it.....

    Cut and run

The highlight was the Chinese lecturing him about his wasteful and out of control spending.
