Obamacare Disaster Continues

See, there you go again. You think just because I support health reform I must be lazy and unemployed. I actually have an excellent job with a very good salary and excellent health coverage. I also own multiple rental properties and have a large amount of savings. So I am not worried about myself, I've worked hard to put myself in a good position.
I have seen however what happens to people who are not as fortunate to be in the position that I am in. I actually care about my fellow Americans and don't think life and death decisions should be left up to insurance companies and how it affects their bottom line, which I see is quite the opposite of what you believe. You are obviously only concerned about yourself and couldn't care less what is happening to others in the country. Some "American" you are. Be Proud.

I don't own any rental properties.

I guess you should give me one of yours, right?

What's the difference?

Do you use your brain before you react? Do you have an actual point?

Wanting people to not get screwed by insurance companies is a far cry from socialism or whatever the hell you're trying to get at it. Do you even know?

So you're not going to sign over a deed?

Is that what you're saying?

Then how am I supposed to get rental properties???

Big surprise huh? Obamacare will cost more - A LOT MORE, than if absolutely nothing had been done. Way to Obama!! America loves you!!! :clap2::clap2::clap2:

A WHOLE 2.3% increase!!!! WOW!!! Put a bandaid on it, will ya......

We are in a deflationary period & healthcare cost would be decreasing if it were not for Obamacare. Thanks to Democrats prices are on the rise.

LMAO!!! Best quote of the year so far! Amazing that you actually were able to type that without laughing yourself right out of your chair. I would LOVE to see what evidence you have to support the statement that healthcare costs would decrease if it wasn't for "Obamacare".

Sure, I'll play the game......ready.

If you want your own property, you need to go buy it for yourself.

Now you tell me, "There you go, why don't they buy their own insurance".

Am I right?

Nobody ever claimed it wasn't going to be costly at the front end. Of course there's also more to the story than just those scary snippets. But of course there is...

Now you tell me, "There you go, why don't they buy their own insurance".

Am I right?

Yep.

You're exactly right.

Now you tell me "they can't get coverage" and I tell you "yes, they can....through high risk policies that are VERY expensive" and you say "that's not fair, or practical, or realistic, or whatever...." and I say "neither is giving away rental properties you earned yourself. They should earn their own, just like they should earn their own insurance premiums."

My mother in law cleans houses to earn the money to pay for her premiums. She's had cancer twice. If anyone is "un-insurable" it is her.

And yet, she has found a way to make it happen.

But then again, she isn't a lazy POS who thinks it is everyone's responsibility to take care of everyone else.

Of course, she isn't young and naive either.

Ahhh, and I was right you went right for the obvious, yet severely flawed argument. You don't understand the situation at all then do you.

Tell me this, since when did owning a rental property become a life necessity? It's not, that's why everyone shouldn't be able to do it without earning it. People have a right to life regardless of economic status though, not to owning rental property. And this is why your analogy is ridiculous and flawed.

Now explain why even when people DO have insurance coverage, they are still often denied procedures and treatment that can literally mean the difference between life and death. Explain to me how that is ok?

So you're saying that insurance is a right?

Who was Benjamin Franklin's provider? Did he die because his premium was too high? Was he denied treatment?

How about Shakespeare? Was he with Prudential, or Cincinnati?

Aaron Burr was covered by AllState at the time, but they declined to cover saying his death was not necessarily "accidental."

You're not EVER denied the procedure or the treatment. Your carrier may decline paying for it, in which case you have the option of paying for it yourself. I have chosen to put my money aside, making it available for just such a possibility, while you have chosen to sink yours into rental properties. Using your logic, the guy who spent all of his on whores and weed gets the same level of comfort as us.

That's socialism, Skippy!

LOL, No I am saying right to life and quality of life is a right. Unfortunately we have insurance companies involved in the mix which makes them (for now) a necessary part of the equation. If Obama had some balls and did what he should have, we could have phased out Insurance companies all together.

And your argument for paying for procedures on your own is laughable, I promise you can't afford 12 months in a hospital plus chemo and a transplant. Very few can. Why? because we've let insurance companies run the show and set the prices for far too long. And they will continue to do so, because "Obamacare" falls FAR short when it comes to cost control.

People with coverage get denied by insurance companies ALL the time for procedures and treatments that they need. If this is happening and you suggest people can just pay for it on their own, then what's the purpose of insurance? Because at that point it ceases to be insuring people. You've shown you really don't understand or even want to understand the problem that is health care in this country. You're just interested in opposing it because it's coming from a Democratic president and you are under the illusion that you are somehow going to be paying for other peoples healthcare more so then you were already doing before.

You call me young and naive. I think you've just shown that your old and severely out of touch.

Perhaps you're right......Perhaps I am old and out of touch?

You could have ended this long ago, and still can now, if you'll just show me where the Bill of Rights, or any of the Amendments, grant healthcare upon us as a right. Being old and all, I'm sure that little nugget has only escaped my memory temporarily, but thank God you are here to pull me back into the reality of Right vs. Privilege.

Thanks in advance, Comrade!

(PS....I could afford a year or two of self-funded hospitalization. I've made a KILLING the last 4 years :)

Only people who "only" vote for one party think that insurance rates weren't going up regardless. Be glad that at least now when you need your insurance for a crisis, you know it will be there. So yes, Thank you to Obama for that!

Health care premiums have far, far surpassed inflation, and they will continue to go up until the health insurance pools become optional. Then, and only then, when there's real competition, will they begin to come down.

Today, the average cost of a family health insurance offered by an employer is $13,375. That's up 131% over the last decade—a period in which inflation rose only 28%. And one estimate says that if costs continue on their current trajectory, premiums will go up another 166% in the decade ahead.

The data was collected by the Kaiser Family Foundation

Ok, you promise this is over if I give you what you want......

"Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness..." in this little old document called the Declaration of Independence lays out unalienable rights that we all share, regardless of race, sex, age, economic status or political party.

The first word in that phrase should suffice, no?

Needs to be socialized, and given time it will. Its a lie to say people don't want it. Obviously there was a "need" to supply it.

WTF.. are you high? The majority of Americans in any poll taken said "we don't want this".

You're a numbnut.

Why do you people continue to lie about polls? Half the people think that health care reform is a good thing, and the others either think it isn't or don't know. That hardly translates into a "majority of Americans in any poll taken said we don't want this." Which polls are you talking about? They ALL (well, of course except for Rasmussen and right wing straw polls) have basically had the same numbers for a year and a half.

Health Policy
