Every other industrialized nation in the world has national health insurance, and they pay HALF per capita what we pay for healthcare.
I'd like to see your research and sources for that claim.
Spending per person (most recent) by country
The World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems
We are #1 in per capita spending but 37th in WHO rankings
Other notable "horrible socialist countries" rank in per capita spending and rank of health care systems according to WHO:
France: 8th per capita spending; 1st in WHO rankings
Canada: 14th per capita spending; 30th in WHO rankings
Spain: 23rd per capita spending; 7th in WHO rankings
If you put it baseball terms.
France is the Yankees (spend alot but have the best)
Canada is the Detroit Tigers (Spend a good chunk but never good enough)
Spain is the Tampa Bay Rays or Minnesota Twins (spend very little yet very good teams(or healthcare))
The USA is like the Mets, spend a ton of money yet have the worst team (or healthcare system).
And per capita means "per head" meaning from the richest person to the poorest person, on average, we pay way more than every other country. The healthcare system needs to be change.
Thanks for the excellent links. Very informative.
