Mindful that some of his early supporters are feeling deflated, President Obama offered a frank admission that job losses and home foreclosures have made it tough for Democrats to retain the buoyant sense of optimism touched off by his election nearly two years ago.

But he said that apathy is no answer. Republicans, he said, are "counting on you to forget who caused the mess in the first place. And now they … want you to believe the election is a referendum on the economy, a referendum on me.''

Invoking President George W. Bush, Obama said: "It's not like we didn't try what they're peddling. We tried it for eight years. It didn't work. … Ohio, it's up to you to tell them we do not want what they're selling. We've been there before and we are not going back.''

Those guys who promise more of the same!

No let's keep in the ones that tripled the deficit in 2 years. Lets keep the ones who can't even vote on extending the tax cuts, let's keep in the ones that voted for this mess called Obamacare, and definitely support the president that does not believe in US exceptionalism.

Just to set the record straight, the Dems have had a majority since 2007.

Yeah..lets set the record straight. The President determines policy and writes the budget. Democrats were not the ones that started 2 wars. Democrats weren't the ones that formulated a huge gift to big phrama. Democrats did not start the Department of Homeland Security. Democrats did not cut taxes on the wealthy. Democrats didn't author TARP. Those were all Republican iniatives. And it's why the debt and deficit have gone to the sky.

And what's happening now..is an actual reversal of the mess made by Republicans. The deficit is starting to actually go down..and the payroll for federal employees has shrunk.

Obama and his productive Congress combined have given us 23 months of record deficits, record unemployment, longest jobless stretch since the 1930′s, record bank failures, record foreclosures, record poverty rate, failing dollar, national poverty at record highest level, foreign policy disasters, record number of golf games played by a president, record death toll in Afghanistan, record number of food stamp recipients, consumer confidence at record lows, auto bailout money being used to build a plant in Mexico, ME-Chelle with a record number of personal assistants, the worst environmental disaster in the US largely ignored and exploited for political gain, SEC now immune from FOIA, internet wiretaps made easier, executive order used to assassinate Americans overseas, don’t ask don’t tell still on, Gitmo still open, secret wiretaps still on, lobbyists, corporations and special interests still have unimpeded access to members of Congress, a ‘Safe Schools Czar’ who is pedophile friendly, record number of unelected and unaccountable Czars, continuation of the war in Iraq and the expansion of the war into Pakistan and Yemen, bills passed in the dead of night on weekends and holidays in order to hide them from the public –
