Obama Tried To Stall Gis' Iraq Withdrawal

Yes, I heard about this today also. It may be the October surprise. If true, I doubt too many Americans would appreciate keeping American troops in Iraq longer than necessary & at a great cost to this country, just so the "messiah" can be the one that brings them home.

In fact, if it were up to Barack Obama--we would have surrendered to terrorists & insurgents two years ago.

I love hearing stuff like this from the GOP.

It's ok when THEIR MESSIAH Ronald Reagan did something like this.

But Barack Obama?

Stop the presses! Big news story! Big news story!

Hypocrisy at it's best. Besides, we're not even 100% sure this is true.

Well, looks like this may be front and center in the news pretty soon....

The McCain Campaign has issued a statement responding to the report from Amer Taheri (see today's web briefing) that Sen. Obama secretly negotiated with the Iraqi government regarding U.S. withdrawal from Iraq. McCain spokesman Randy Scheunemann stated as follows:

At this point, it is not yet clear what official American negotiations Senator Obama tried to undermine with Iraqi leaders, but the possibility of such actions is unprecedented.

Why does anyone find this surprising? Obama needed to convince the extreme left in the democratic party that he was getting us out of Iraq period no matter what. So they all fawned all over him. In speech after speech it was 2009 , 2009, now you hear 16 months and now you hear he wants to try and convince the Iraqi government to delay any commitments till he gets into office. Frankly, I don't find this surprising from him at all.

Reagan and Obama are both overrated. It would hurt Obama more because he is supposed to be this antiwar revolutionary change candidate. It would prove that he really isnt.

Possibility of such actions is unprecedented? Do you not recall RONALD REAGAN?

Or did certain members of the GOP all of a sudden have fuzzy memory loss?

Maybe not on the scale that Obama is accused of, but the actions have been done before.

Isn't this supposed to be the big "O"? The guy who is all about change? The person who is going to make Washington different?

And you are defending him by saying Ronald Reagan, a man the left hates with a passion, may have done the same?

This is the lowest form of politics, and if Reagan did it, he should be denounced for it, just like Iran-Contra.

Hypothetically, IF this is true, would those of you who support him now still vote for him?

Obama is running on "change" and end the war. If this is proven, it's politics as usual and extend the war.

This one is going to run the risk of upsetting a lot of those Obama supporters that are voting on his anti-war stance. I wonder though, how much of this story will get told in though? Does anyone forsee a New York Times front page on this one? I wouldn't hold out hope on that. I would be willing to bet though, if it were McCain that was the one doing such a thing it would be on the next cover of Time and Newsweek and and ever major daily in the country.

McCain Responds to Obama's Reported Undermining of the Commander-In-Chief During Wartime [Andy McCarthy]

At this point, it is not yet clear what official American negotiations Senator Obama tried to undermine with Iraqi leaders, but the possibility of such actions is unprecedented. It should be concerning to all that he reportedly urged that the democratically-elected Iraqi government listen to him rather than the US administration in power. If news reports are accurate, this is an egregious act of political interference by a presidential candidate seeking political advantage overseas. Senator Obama needs to reveal what he said to Iraq's Foreign Minister during their closed door meeting. The charge that he sought to delay the withdrawal of Americans from Iraq raises serious questions about Senator Obama's judgment and it demands an explanation.

I'd like to see McCain call for an investigation into possible Logan Act violations.

I am curious to see who will touch this question.

You're enough to make the most egalitarian person wish there were IQ tests before people like you can vote.

Notice how the Dems just love restricting voting to the "wrong" kind of people? Yet claim they are for all votes counting and the "will" of the people? Can we say that word that applies here? Come on Jillian I know you can say it.

LOL, they will ignore it. And of course they will all vote for him, he is a Liberal closet socialist. THAT and the fact he is a Democrat is all they need to know. I mean come on, they do not even care that he has no plan to pay for his new programs but will also lower the deficit by magic I guess.

I think Silence wants you to vote but that tape over her mouth always throws me off.

you certainly are facsinated with my avi dillo.... for such a straight laced repub it seems like the idea of some bondage turns you on...

and btw...that's Jessica Alba... the first pic I had was Christina Aguleria....

Allie, it's not that you have to agree...I guess some of us would like to think those voting are at least smart enough to read the ballot instead of just christmas treeing it like they would a high school exam..... when it doubt go with 'c'

And the fact that his best friends for twenty years is a frothing at the mouth, America hating, racist, a convicted slum lord, and an unrepentant terrorist bomber... none of that matters... he's got a D in front his name.

Yeah so... why do these hollyweird twits need to go to such extremes to make such a simple point? Oh wait... maybe it's their narcissistic tendencies, and you lap it up... :eusa_hand:
