Any good libertarian should support Obama. He's the most ineffective leader we've had in a long time. He can't get anything done. This is what we need from government, soft academics running the place - with no ability to achieve a thing. This allows the private sector to operate without concern that government will stop it, because issues like cap and trade and card check turn into silly empty threats.

So what if Obama uses socialist rhetoric? Bush used capitalist rhetoric and implemented socialist policies, including the expensive and atrocious Medicare Part D plan. Rather hear pinko talk than be burdened with pinko policy. And Obama is implementing capitalist policies by having the government do as little as possible. His limp wristed management style is doing far more to limit government than anything Republicans have done for years.

Well he voted for TARP as a Senator, enacted the Stimulus Package as President, has not ended the Iraq war, has bombed Pakistan, has become more aggressive in Afghanistan, and has used more aggressive rhetoric against Iran.

Not exactly libertarian positions or policies.

He might be a libertarian as you say, by accident. Failing as a leader no way supports what the libertarian party stands for.

I don't belong to the party, but live amongst several libertarians. I do share many of the views of the libertarian party.

I used to be an anarchist, but the meetings were just too disorganized for me, so I dropped out.....

so what does it stand for? getting .3% of the vote in an election? irritating people to death at parties by talking about auditing the Fed?

You don't need a separate party of nerds when you can accomplish the same thing by having democrats and republicans fight with each other.

Those are exactly the reasons why i do not support or belong to any political party. Never have, never will.

Don't go on and on about having to belong to a party to vote in a primary election. That is something that people should work to change on a state level if it is important to them. Plenty of the states have changed it, so there is no excuse.

George Washington himself warned us about the political parties and how they could corrupt our system of government. It has happened, and the partisan people among us have not only allowed that to happen, they have welcomed it!

You stated in your op that obama was libertarian 'by accident'. Where did you speak of the libertarian party?
I spoke of the libertarian party in my post when I stated I was not a member.

Obama has failed as a leader thus far in several ways. One is continuing the partisan bickering. Another is using the partisan bickering to create even greater divisions among the electorate. Yet another is breaking several, if not all, of his campaign promises.
You stated as much yourself in your op.

Did you really want comments, or were you just trolling for an argument?

The op could have substituted booooosh for obama and the post would have been just as meaningful.

Republicans and democrats have become one and the same, there is no longer any difference, none at all except for the color tie they wear, and the color of the posters at their rallies.

He sure as heck is spending a lot of money for someone who is doing nothing.

Somehow the idea that Obama is successful because he's incompetent just doesnt make me feel happy. I would prefer an effective president to an ineffective one. Esp if that president was a small gov't conservative.

So all libertarians are nerds?
