Obama Popularity in Decline

W's popularity rate was over 80 after his first 3 months. That poll doesn't mean jack shit. But you may be right about the medical insturance take-over thing. Our democratic representatives are dumber than a box of nails.

All that means is the people who voted for him still support him.

and? he won with 365 electoral votes. should he care about the deadenders who wouldn't vote for him even if he *could* walk on water?

Besides... seems this is another bogus thread anyway... even after all the controversal stuff of the last few weeks, it's still less than a point averaged.

RealClearPolitics - Election Other - President Obama Job Approval

so the the folk who continually misrepresent every bit of information are still doing so.

it's all good.... i expect nothing more from them.

Is it any wonder that congressional socialists are trying to get their socialized medical services and cap-n-trade scams post haste??

Please provide a list of the congressional officials that advocate and publicly work for the institution of the collective ownership of the means of production. :)

It may be that his supporters protest too much. It may be Rasmussen is a very biased source. Which is more likely, based on track record?

Here's what I've seen for the past 3 months. The American people overall disagree with Obama's policies, but want him to succeed. Thus his high approval ratings, in spite of the low numbers regarding specifics.

With 53% now approving of Obama, (down from over 60% two months ago) and a steady rise in strong dissaproval numbers, one must ponder if the once shining personal popularity of the new president is finally being dismantled by the lessening support of his policies.

Most phonies and posers experience this. The trouble is the damage created before they are finally sold out for good. The sooner we can get this guy out of office the better.

You damn well better hope he succeeds or you'll get failed kidneys.

you've seen no such thing... THIS is what you've seen... that about twice as many people think the country is going in the right direction than thought that when bush was president.

i think perhaps you'd find issues we could debate and discuss if all i've seen from the right hadn't been so disingenuous.

President Approve Disapprove
John F. Kennedy 83% 5%
Dwight Eisenhower 73% 10%
Ronald Reagan 68% 21%
Barack Obama 65% 29%
Jimmy Carter 63% 18%
Richard Nixon 62% 15%
George W. Bush 62% 29%
George H.W. Bush 56% 22%
Bill Clinton 55% 29%
Obama at 100 Days Is Average in Polls, Better Than Bush, Worse Than Reagan, JFK - Robert Schlesinger (usnews.com)

As you can see poll numbers after the first 100 days don't mean much as to how a President will end his term. So if you start comparing Obama to Bush on terms of Poll numbers be careful because they pretty much were at the same place after 100 days as was Jimmy Carter and we all know what a great president he turned out to be.

Seems to me you've answered your own question.

Declining approval at the polls of the POTUS does tend to indicate declining support of his policies, does it not?

I am mentally from the "show me state" but I am physically not. I know what I paid in taxes for the year of 2008. I will wait to pass judgement on Obama until we either have a terrorist attack, North Korea attacks the South, Israel attacks Iran, or my taxes are raised up beyond what I can afford. I truthfully think the man is leading us down the Marxist path to not only socialism, but marxism and communism as well. I sincerely hope I am wrong, but all the pointers are pointing that way.

except the OP's assertion doesn't reflect reality... he always picks the one republican outlier poll to use as an example. yet there's been maybe a 1 point change... even after it appears that obama isn't closing gitmo; hasn't gotten rid of don't ask don't tell; and has moderated certain views that the left doesn't like. but they aren't voting for anyone else in 2012. and certainly aren't going to vote for a rightwingnut.

but, as i stated before, the "is the country going int he right direction" thing, sill looks darn good for obama..

Except for the minor details of the lack of public ownership of the means of production and usage of liberal democratic capitalism for the purpose of macroeconomic stabilization and maintenance of the physical efficiency of the working class, of course...;)

So you are out of your mind?

No. If I infer correctly he's subscribing to the MO standard, while not in MO.

you're the queen of disingenuous....try comparing the beginning of bush's term to now, further, you're comparing apples/oranges....your darling media has created obama the jesus christ superstar....bush had no where near, not even remotely, the media love fest with him until after 9/11....and before that, it was "bush stole the elections"....so your attempt to compare the two is disingenuous at best....

Thank you Annie. That is exactly of what I was inferring. I haven't seen anything which will change my mind on this subject. I am still awaiting a final tax reform that will cost me more than what I paid last year. Obama says that my taxes will not go up, but I have reservations about that because he is suggesing to spend trillions of American taxpayer dollars, and has no way to do that other than taxing the American public more than ever.

Let her rant. I've no care there. She's really, really upset with Obama and fearful this will come home to roost. Problem is his anti-semitism may spread within her party. Who'd have thunk?
