The ABC/Washington Post poll has Obama ahead among the under-30s by a whopping 66 percent to 30 percent, while McCain leads among over-65s (technically, I should say "65 and overs," but "over-65s" is more succinct) by 45 percent to 40 percent. Quinnipiac has Obama leading among under-35s by 63 percent to 31 percent, while McCain edged Obama 45 percent to 44 percent among over-55s. The CBS/New York Times poll showed Obama leading among under-30s by 48 percent to 36 percent, while McCain led among over-65s by 42 percent to 40 percent. In general, Obama's current lead in recent polls is due entirely to his lead—by as much as 2-1—among young voters.

What Obama needs to do is buy a lot of commercials on Matlock.

The younger candidate is almost always favored by younger voters. Kind of a no-brainer.

Don't tell me someone made money selling stating the obvious as news?

LOL

Kinda like a fish prefers water over land, by an overwhelming majority....:blahblah:

This shouldn't really surprise anyone... Most of these are in their 20's just graduating from college where for 4 years they have been told that Republicans are evil... From these numbers it looks like as people get older they tend to go more middle of the road than far left.

dont stereotype or anything. i was never told that repubs were evil. in fact, my school had a huge republican club and a democrat club with about 11 members

Come on man. Of course there are exceptions. But the majority of colleges are liberal... I can't believe I actually have to explain this...

College Faculties A Most Liberal Lot, Study Finds (washingtonpost.com)

What's really suprising is that McCain even has a chance with all of the left wing colleges and media out there... Just think if colleges and media were split 50/50....

I don't know why anyone would think that Republicans are evil....

yeah, and people believe absolutely everything they hear. just cause the prof's add some dem bias when speaking doesnt mean the students will all become dems. there are many factors involved

I like to think of myself as an Eiserhower Republican.

Of course by some of the people's standards today, that makes me a screaming socialist, I suppose.

every survey or poll show obama winning 47 to 41 or better.

The recent USA today/gallup showed mccain winning barely. Turns out they called lan lines. who has home phones anymore? older ppl.

I'm scared the mainstream and corporate media is going to lie so they can steal another one. or lie to change peoples minds and raise doubts. obama should have 60 percent of the vote. imo. based on everything i'm seeing.

msnbc had a survey and 74 percent said obama. so no way any fair survey shows mccain winning. maybe in west virginia.

I am not suprised young voters favor an inexsperienced candidate. After all young people today are IMO the give me generation. They feel they should just get everything with out working for it, so why would they care if Obama wins the presidencey with out having any exsperience to merit it.

So Charles, since you brought this up. let me ask you something.

Have you gone out to talk to a lot of young voters? People ages 18-28? If so, how do they feel about Obama? How do they feel about McCain? How do they think Bush has done in office the last 8 years?

I think they are more interested in change, and experience, but that's what I get from talking to the 'kids.'

I can not say I have talked to a lot of them. But I can say nearly everyone I have talked to has little to say about why Obama would be good. Most just say ANYONE BUT BUSH 3. :) Or they say we need change, or Obama is the candidate of Hope. It leads me to believe these kids would vote for a rock if the Democrats told them to.

You realize historically the younger demographic doesn't show up to vote. It could be that they are partying to hard and forget to vote....:party::eusa_dance:
