Obama economists: Stimulus was an epic failure!!!

It isn't just that the stimulus was a failure. It was known at the time that it would not work.

So were the Bush stimulus packages failures.

One cannot resurect the dead.
they did however slow the fall a bit and cause the fear factor to be a bit lower than it otherwise would have been.

Absolutely.

Bush should have hauled Dodd and Frank to Gitmo for their role in the housing collapse.

Porkulus did exactly what it was supposed to do... pay off the unions and provide the Dems with a taxpayer funded, multi-billion dollar slush fund.

It worked so well in the current recession that we now have growth over three years that totals .8 of 1 percent. The previous averages during recession times were approx 9.9 percent growth. We are currently at .8 of 1 percent growth. Its' astounding.

there will be no "recovery" this is about as good as it will get for at least a decade.

Yep we have all been suckers for a few decades now.
Well those of us that actually believed the political rhetoric of either side.

That's what they said under Carter.
Reagan came in and proved that wrong.

The chickens will come home to roost at some point. $14 Trillion and climbing. $278,000 per job is both shocking and depressing.

Both stimulus releases did exactly what they were intended to do, to clean up the mess that they themselves in cohorts with top financial firms created.
Also to prevent an even worse economic erosion if the entire system began to collapse.

To show their appreciation - Wall Street is returning the favor by creating yet another bubble.

Well one thing is for sure- the Pub Propaganda machine works GREAT. BTW, 40% of the stimulus were tax cut sops to Pubs.By the time you REALLY do the numbers, the cost per job is about the cost per job- what a pile of Pubcrappe...

Another thing that works great is the obstruction and paralysis of the Pubs in congress, great at making the stimulus look bad (at the moment holding the country's economy hostage with fears of reneging on our debts), and the hoarding of record cash by greedy Pub corporate and financial CEOS.

Unfortunately, you're not going to hold up the recovery all the way to the elections, and Ryan's plan to kill Medicare, MORE tax cuts for the bloated rich, and more war on collective bargaining are showing all but total dittoheads what Pubs REALLY want- more ruin of the non-rich...

If you believe this you are a mere child. As a mental child you will believe everything your superiors, in this case left wing media, tells you as a child believes everything a parent tells them...like a man flying in a sled propelled by flying reindeer. And what they put in your head is no less a fantasy.

I know this is a huge generalization but so are the saved /created jobs numbers of (cbo) between 1.4 and 3.3 million so here goes my math;

IF we take the number in between as 2.4 million jobs, 666 billion = 278.000k a job, we would have been better off maybe;

if there are 1.5 million homes we know about in foreclosure- lets add another million ( to reach 2.4 million) for everyone in a home that is under water and in foreclosure- we give them 150k, ( for any home at say 400 k that’s saving their house via lowering princp. & int. for the new payment).

So 128k left, we could have sent a job retraining voucher to the unemployed of those homeowners who had no work for say 25k, leaving 103k.

That 103k would have covered the unemployment ins. extensions and still saved plenty to give to the states( even though I am against that anyway).

The mortgage crisis balloon would have been pretty much totally popped, how much is that worth as a net plus?
