A plan by California’s biggest utility to cut power on high-wind days during the onrushing wildfire season could plunge millions of residents into darkness. And the vast majority isn’t ready for it.

The plan by PG&E Corp. comes after the bankrupt utility said a transmission line that snapped in windy weather probably started last year’s Camp Fire, the deadliest in state history. While the plan may end one problem, it creates another as Californians seek ways to deal with what some fear could be days and days of blackouts.

Bloomberg - Are you a robot?

That is EXACTLY what I suggested they do the other day!
Confirmed: The Tragic California Fires Are All Man's Fault Not The Climate
Actually, I know a way they could reconfigure their grid so that it would only cut off in the event of an actual downed wire before it would have time to start a fire.

We should all move to California so we can experience these brown outs.

Who am I kidding?? LOL

Start with the wild concept of cutting trees away from power lines...

They do that regularly here in Pennsylvania.

Makes sense. People may not realize it, but "Pennsylvania" means "Penn's Woods", and there are a lot of trees and a lot of power lines

All States do. But in California the Democrats let them slack, then make the taxpayers pick up the tab for wildfires.

The OP doesn't want California to take measures to prevent fires.

---------------- I don't know and i don't know the area but my conspiracy is that one reason to do this to move people out of areas like this area and let it go back to nature by making it inconveinant for people to live there .

The reich would simply fan the fires and condemn the devastated land to prohibit rebuilding. My self i look forward to no electricity as i have a natural gas generator that can light up several homes.
