Number of Jobs Added in August?

Not at all

I think some functions are better performed in the private sector and some functions are best performed in the government sector

Exactly what function has the government done that has not lost money?
U.S. Postal service?
The rail system?
FAA?
The school system?
The pot holes in the road system?

Defense, the space program, roads, bridges, schools, police, fire, healthcare are all more efficient if performed by the government
Wrong

Let's look at schools before we had free public education in this country. The wealthy could afford to educate their children while the poor couldn't even teach their kids to read and write. Education is the great equalizer in this country. A free public school education where poor kids receive the same education as wealthy kids is what made this country great

Healthcare in this country is now provided primarily by employers who buy from private insurance companies. Both are primarily concerned with their own profits rather than the health of the worker

I don't know what world you live in but here on this world public schools are not free they are paid for by the tax payer. And just how good is that education? What the pass fail rate?

Let's all thank the Tea Tards....cut government spending to the bone, then wonder where all the jobs went

it's about time the government got smaller. But as for the jobs in the private sector any budget cuts will not effect them because the government does not pay salaries in the private sector, The only thing the government does for the private sector is cut taxes.

Are you serious?

Who do you think gets those government contracts that the Tea Baggers are killing?

I'll take Unions for 500 Alex.....

How good are our public schools?

They have educated hundreds of millions of American children from ALL walks of life who have gone on to become doctors, engineers, military leaders and even president

Yes, our tax dollars pay for our schools and it is a wise investment in this countries future

I thought you would be above such nonsense

How many presidents kids have gone to public school since Amy Carter?

The security alone makes it prohibitive.

How many presidents have attended our public schools? How about Ron Reagan?

A small percent. Many kids who can't read have learning disabilities. Those are the kids private schools will not accept because it costs too much to educate them. Those are the kids conservatives would just as soon cast aside ....you know, the " No child left behind" kids

You want for profit roads? You want to show a credit card before police or firemen come to your house?

Healthcare is better provided by the government. It provides better service at lower cost. Most of the world already knows that ...it is just conservatives who are owned by the insurance companies

So America leads the world in educating it's children?

No child left behind was a package dreamed up byu drunk on a bridge kennedy and bush

How about FEMA hows that doing?

Far from it

But none of those countries that are beating the hell out of us in education rely on private education. They all fund PUBLIC education

However, public schools in this country are complete crap. I don't think that anyone want public schools to disappear but there needs to be MASSIVE reform in that area. At the end of the day though, the private sector FAR outshines public schools. There is zero doubt about that.

Private schools fill a niche. They could never educate the bulk of our children. They cherry pick who they want and leave the rest for public schools

Union boogie man?

Show where none of those foreign teachers have collective bargaining rights

I think a common thread you will find in those educational systems is that they value their teachers
