    Where did this come from?

2011/2012 was supposed to be a rebuilding season. Not expected to make the Big Dance -maybe not even some of the lessor post-season tourneys.

After a rough start - have beaten 6 ranked teams- incl #1 Syracuse -and are solidly entrenched in the rankings.

Just routed West Virginia 71-44 -and they were only favored by 2 points.

Digger Phelps was at courtside doing commentary with ESPN.

    Mike Brey's best coaching job??

THE surprise team in Div 1.

I hope Ky gets them as an 8 or 9 seed in the second round.

They won't get that far if they play like they did against St Johns.

They should have won 3 straight NCs in the late 70s with theirembarrassmentof talent - Adrian Dantley, Bill Laimbeer, Kelley Tripucka, Orlando Woolridge, Dave Batton, Duck Williams -all on the same team...

(Digger, Digger - how much talent do you need???) what one mag said......

Digger had some talent in the late 70's. Ky spanked ND on a regular basis. UK was 14-1 against ND from 1974-1988. That 1977-78 game was a classic. UK had Robey, Phillips, Macy, Givens while ND had Tripucka, Woolridge, and Laimbeer. UK won by only 5 and went on win it all that year.

ND lost to Duke in the semis in 1978 - then Kentucky beat Duke in the finals.

IMO -ND had the slam-dunk best team.

I remember that. Ky had Ark, Sidney Moncrief in the semis, and had Mich St, Magic Johnson the game before. Listened to Cawood Ledford call that NC game. James Lee for Ky ended it with a dunk but yeah that ND team was really talented.

Or the Dan Issel-Austin Carr show in 1970, 52 and 44 points, in Mideast regional semifinals.

ND beat UCLA-Wooden teams in 70, 73 but werent that good against basketball-only schools like Kentucky, Duke, Indiana, North Carolina......
