But they DO help pay for yours.

One of the most effective ploys by those attempting to vilify undocumented immigrants is to assert that those immigrants are stealing benefits from Americans. Donald Trump has deployed this falsehood on multiple occasions both in his speeches and on Twitter long before becoming president. It’s an insinuation quite divorced from reality.

Thing is? This wasn’t a new policy Trump was proposing. It’s already the law. Bill Clinton signed such a bill over 20 years earlier in 1996: The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, or “IIRIRA.” Congress legislated that not only would undocumented immigrants not receive welfare, but legal immigrants wouldn’t get benefits such as food stamps, Medicaid or money for child assistance until they’ve lived here at least five years and even seven years after their arrival.

What Undocumented Immigrants Receive vs. What They Don’t

To be clear, there are many different types of benefits a resident of the United States can receive. Let’s take a fact-based look at what benefits undocumented immigrants do and do not receive then in the United States.

Here’s a listing of benefits undocumented immigrants expressly do not receive:
  • Children’s Health Insurance (CHIP)

  • Disability, aka Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

  • Food stamps, aka The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

  • Health insurance, aka insurance via the Affordable Care Act (ACA)

  • Medicaid

  • Medicare

  • Social Security

  • Welfare
Here’s what undocumented immigrants may be eligible for:
  • Emergency medical care, including ER visits and Emergency Medicaid

  • Schooling

  • Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

Trump and others should stop repeating the same old lies about immigrants stealing benefits from American citizens. Republicans are the only ones who keep repeating these lies.

Lakhota, if unlimited immigration is good for the average American, then why don't we up it and bring in tens of millions of penniless, uneducated and unskilled workers that don't speak a lick of English from places like Burma, Bangladesh, India, etc., etc., etc.? If ten million illegals is good, bringing in 100 million immigrants as I described above would yield spectacular results for the average American, right?

Since unlimited illegal immigration is so great, then its fans shouldn't mind being deported en masse to Mexico or Somalia. They can Make Mexico Great Again, or make Somalia a Social Justice Paradise.

If the US didn't benefit from those workers and cheap labor and fill those jobs, that Americans want to do....They wouldve stop them from coming. America needed, let them in....simple as that.

Great. So let's bring in a hundred-million penniless, unskilled poor people who can't speak a lick of English. That will be even better for the average American, right?

If cheap labor is so great for America, then why are liberals the first to demand a $15 minimum wage?

another economic fool that thinks bad is good.

this is on par with ue being good for the economy.

I presume that you are referring to the OP.

Where I differ with liberals is that I believe immigration policies should be based on what's best for the average American. Liberals believe it should be based on what's best for the foreign migrant and fuck the average American. Then, of course, liberals will tell us that having unlimited immigration of destitute, unskilled and non-English-speaking peoples is GOOD for the average American. LOL.

The only people who benefit from illegal immigration are their employers and the Democratic Party that counts on their votes. That may be the only 'Americans' that count to some, like Issa, but that's merely bigotry and racism talking.

All countries have immigration laws.
It's not racist or intolerant to have immigration laws.
But what is really racist are the Left Wingers who do not accept that America is a sovereign country.
Illegal immigration costing record $135 billion a year, study shows

Even studies requested by Democratic Party pols show a net loss to the economy from all immigration, not just illegals; the Denslow study in Florida found a net loss to the state economy of around $2,400 per year per immigrant. Illegals probably make up most of that loss, but legal immigration is harmful as well. Almost half pay no taxes, despite all the noise about how they do, and then there is the payroll tax losses due to driving wages down across the board for legal workers that never gets mentioned either. Cesar Chavez and the Latino activists in the border states all opposed criminal illegal immigration for a very good reason for decades.

The '$135 billion' is likely way off, and it's much higher.

And, mass immigration has never been 'good for the country' in our entire history. Studies have shown that to be a myth as well. In fact the poverty and political instability it caused was a leading cause of the Civil War and Lincoln's dictatorship coming to power.

There has never been a labor shortage in our entire history, ever. Some guy not getting rich as as fast as he wants to isn't a labor shortage, it's just greed.

Doesn't matter.

They depress wages in several trades, and in the general labor pool.

They add to the pool of available labor and therefore make it more difficult for a citizen to obtain a job, just by sheer numbers.

It's our country, not theirs.

We get to say who can come in, or stay, and who may not - it's our decision, not theirs.

There is presently an invasion force of 11-12,000,000 Illegal Aliens, now present upon United States soil, without our express, prior consent.

This violates our border integrity, our national sovereignty, United States immigration law, and common sense.

They go.

The sooner the Democrats figure that out, and begin acting on it, the sooner they'll return to political power on the National level.
