Even studies requested by Democratic Party pols show a net loss to the economy from all immigration, not just illegals; the Denslow study in Florida found a net loss to the state economy of around $2,400 per year per immigrant. Illegals probably make up most of that loss, but legal immigration is harmful as well. Almost half pay no taxes, despite all the noise about how they do, and then there is the payroll tax losses due to driving wages down across the board for legal workers that never gets mentioned either. Cesar Chavez and the Latino activists in the border states all opposed criminal illegal immigration for a very good reason for decades.

The '$135 billion' is likely way off, and it's much higher.

And, mass immigration has never been 'good for the country' in our entire history. Studies have shown that to be a myth as well. In fact the poverty and political instability it caused was a leading cause of the Civil War and Lincoln's dictatorship coming to power.
