A Hinds County Circuit judge has ruled Mississippi's open carry/concealed weapon law is unconstitutionally vague and ordered an injunction to remain in place barring the law from going into effect.

A little background as I understand it. A couple of years ago a judge determined that just because MS has a concealed carry law, that doesn't preclude a person from legal open carry. The legislature clarified this position in a recent bill that was passed. This judge in Hinds County (a huge, wealthy area of the state) is trying to block that legislation. Some sheriffs in other counties are saying that the opinion of the Hinds County judge doesn't apply state-wide since the legislation was just clarifying an existing right (affirmed in the US Constitution) to open carry.

It is a mess. What do you think?
