Congress is contemplating various emergency bailout bills that total about $200 billion. The Democrat majority plans to ignore Pay as you Go rules, so that only about 30% of this amount will be funded by new taxes. These bailouts include $165 billion for unions who have mismanaged their pension funds, located in just a few states, and $23 billion to keep teachers on the jobs in states and local school districts where cutbacks are planned. The latter will only postpone the inevitable since states and localities are having to make cutbacks, often due to declining enrollments, as well as declining revenues. After this money is spent, just like last year's Stimulus, the teachers will be laid off anyway. And it is unfair for the Federal Government to tax us for what is a state and local responsibility. This is really taxation without representation. Just because California and New York are basket cases doesn't mean states like Missouri fighting hard to make cuts, hold the line on taxes and balancing their budgets should be hurt. Congress needs to realize they are broke - they have spent all our money and are now spending our kid's and grandkid's money. This irresponsible behavior must stop. Call or write your Senators and Representatives now and vote come November for responsible Conservative minded candidates to get our country back on course.
