Post Editorial Calls 2nd Amendment

In the wake of the June shooting at an Aurora movie theater that left twelve people dead, the New York Post ran an editorial acknowledging that "there is no legitimate reason for gun-sellers to be peddling militarized accessories, like high-capacity ammunition magazines, speed loaders and such." At the same time, though, the conservative editorial page cautioned that "while a case can be made for stronger national gun laws, it needs to be advanced with profound respect for the constitutional issues involved ... The Constitution is the law of the land. Respect it."
But the massacre in Newtown elicited a call from the Post-owning Rupert Murdoch for stronger gun control, and the newspaper, which only a few months ago was deferring to the sanctity of the Second Amendment, seems to have gotten the message. From today's editorial, "Adam Lanza's Weapons":
Has technology rendered the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution obsolete?
That is, has the application of modern military design to civilian firearms produced a class of weapons too dangerous to be in general circulation?
We say: Yes ...

No, NYC's murder rate has dropped dramatically.

And that has to do with aggressive policing, not the restrictive gun laws for normal citizens.

That's pretty funny. Murdoch doesn't give a rats ass about gun control. You think he wants his body gaurds to go unarmed? What a fraud. He is just trying to be controversial to sell newspapers and ad space on FOX and the Post.

The law, however, says that's irrelevant:

[T]he Second Amendment extends, prima facie, to all instruments that constitute bearable arms, even those that were not in existence at the time of the founding.
