Patek, I wish we would, but we are screaming about other things that are stupid (such as birtherism) and makes us a laughing stock to the rest of America. If the GOP is to be taken seriously, we need a respected Voice (that is not limbeckity), a good platform, and an excellent presentation that is respectful.

Democrats' Satisfaction Spikes, Republicans' Remains Scarce
The substantial uptick in satisfaction among Democrats follows the House's passage of the new healthcare bill on March 21 and President Obama's signing the bill into law on March 23 (Obama signed the revised healthcare bill on March 30). Democrats' satisfaction had dropped from readings in the mid-40% range last fall to 29% in early March. By the time of Gallup's March 26-28 survey this year, Democrats' satisfaction had begun to move back up; it has recovered to the current 49% in Gallup's April 8-11 survey.
There has been less variation in satisfaction among independents and Republicans over this same time period. Independents' satisfaction inched up in April compared to March.
Then you'll no doubt feel the same way when the remaining 2/3rds of the nation; which is decidedly not satisfied; kicks the Democrat Party to the curb in November and commences to defund, repeal and replace the illicitly passed Healthcare Bill which rests as the source of that satisfaction.

Although quite a number of citizens feel like that, I don't think the great majority are going to insist on it if the bill also guarantees a shut down of the border. I believe the majority will concede the former to get the latter.

It's just not possible to "shut the border down". Americans aren't that naive to believe that allowing 15 million people to go to the head of the line in exchange for a promise on a piece of paper will stop the illegal alien flow into America....and it's a slap in the face of all legal immigrants who came here through the current lottery system. Reagan's amnesty failed. The only way is to have the illegal aliens leave and take their proper place at the back of the line.

No one is going to round 11 to 13 million illegals. Americans as a whole will not permit a police state atmosphere that threatens the citizens. Just not going to happen.

How are you going to make them leave if you don't round them up? Possibly you don't understand they think they are as much at home as you and I do. Tens of millions of their children are citizens. They are not leaving willingly. To do what you want requires a round up. Not going to happen.

If they DO NOT turn themselves in then they should be treated like criminals and when arrested at some point in the future for immigration violations or breaking some other law...they should be deported and never allowed back in....legally.

OK, I understand what you are saying now. That will not happen, because a compromise on this issue will have to be made, and it will not favor the reactionary right. That's just politics. The far right does not have the numbers on this one to have them leave and then come back.
