Native American Tribe Cancels Ted Nugent Concert Due To "Racist, Hate-Filled Remarks"

"Hit the skids" means not being able to get a grip. You are sliding, or skidding, and having trouble controling your direction and movement. You are "skidding" out of control. Not all the way out of control because with skill and maybe some luck you can pull out of a skid. Heading towards a crash.

"Racist hate filled remarks"? Would the casinos cancel Ice-T, Ice Cube or Eminem? Here's a taste of the tasteless, "I'm bout to dust some cops off/cop killer/fug police brutality--Ice-T
"A young nigga on the warpath and when I'm finished it's gonna be a bloodbath/cops dyin in L.A.-Ice Cube
"Fuk money I don't rap for dead presidents I'd rather see the presidents dead-Eminem

Indians can do what they want to.
They own the place.

That kind of is the bottom line.

I see Ted and the boys are playing all over the place and making tons of money.

Bottom tier bookings, will make solid money but not a big draw as most of his bookings are bars and saloons. Has a few good ones mixed in.

He is booked for the House of Blue in Anaheim.

Same place Clapton recently played.. :eusa_whistle::eusa_whistle:

Small venue and I love Clapton.
Jason Aldean sells out arenas.
Hope the best for Ted but his music sucks

It's not a matter of whether or not Ted can draw. He always can. It's an issue of touring to promote his new album and picking smaller venues to cut costs and keep a tour lean and mean.

And he's playing venues for fun from what I can observe. He's done everything else for heaven's sake.

August is excellent. Man oh man I would love to have seen him in Sturgis. That would be rock heaven baby!:eusa_angel:

His royalties from Cat Scratch Fever, Stranglehold and his songs he co wrote during his stint with Damn Yankees will keep him in the $$$$ forever.

Whoop T doo.
Hope he makes a pant load of cash.
I saw Amboy Dukes more times than I have toes and fingers at Fox Theatre, Alex Cooley's Electric Ballroom, Atlanta Auditorium, Richards House of Rock and other venues back in the day.
Anyone that knows anything about rock n roll of that era knows that when Nugent dropped The Amboy Dukes after his name for the name of the band that was the end. Teddy fucked all of the Amboy Dukes band members. His current band is terrible. Rob Grange was his bass player and he bought the house I lived in when I was in high school before I left for college. Grange wrote Stranglehold and Nugent stole it from him. Years later Nugent gave partial credit to Grange and admitted Rob "co wrote" the song and in typical Teddy Wimpy fashion fucked Grange and has given him ZERO money as his share as a co writer.

Meh, Nugent's music is awesome. But Teddy can't sing. Without Derek St. Holmes, only the guitar will sound right.

Rob Grange also sang backup and some lead vocals.
Nugent's music is awesome to head bangers.

So you buy the "he had a medical condition" BS when he was jumping off of 4 tiered 16 foot high Marshall stacks before his concerts?

Not buying your story.

Here's why;

I have thick callouses on my fingers, tough as shoe leather. When I was learning to play Stranglehold, the technique of a double bend coupled with a pull-off actually tore the callous on my ring finger away from the underlying flesh. This is a three step bend on the G string with a two step on the B, you have to "pop" the pull off, on the G (12th fret) then instantly go back into the bend, all while maintaining the two step bend on the B.

No way in hell a bass player developed that technique. Grange may have put down the bass line, but big deal, it's the same bass line as ZZ Top's La Grange anyway.

Love or hate Ted, he is one of the best guitar players in the world. I can copy his techniques - but he developed them. Only Clapton demonstrates the depth of complexity that Nugent does.

Definitely not buying your story.
Rights to a song dude are NOT how the instrument is played and how you form your fingers.
It is the written words to the song and the music itself.
And Nugent ADMITTED Rob co wrote THE WORDS TO THE SONG.
Ted Nugent is not in the top 50 guitar players.
I put him about 75th which is very good but his music still sucks.
Now for his style of hard driving head banging rock n roll I put him in top 10.
Clapton does not even play the same style of music Nugent plays.
What planet do you live on?

I'm sorry, I was under the impression that you might have actually heard the song.

"How the instrument is played" is generally referred to as "the music." In this case, the music is based on an epic guitar solo.

And Nugent ADMITTED Rob co wrote THE WORDS TO THE SONG.

Who cares? Tell it to the poetry society.

Ted Nugent is not in the top 50 guitar players.

How would you know, seriously?

I put him about 75th which is very good but his music still sucks.

Why would I care where you put him?

Unless you can play his licks, you're just a blowhard

Now for his style of hard driving head banging rock n roll I put him in top 10.

You are an utter joke. Nugent plays blues inspired rock with a heavy reliance on melodic guitar solos.

What exactly do you think Clapton plays? Country? Jazz?

One of my biggest criticisms of Nugent is that he stole the main phrase of "Hey Baby" from Clapton's song "Hide Away."
