NASA's Mars Perseverance rover finds samples of Microbial life on mars

"Biologically interesting"
"Could indicate"

I've heard this song before &, after this is blown up, we will hear it again.
Modern scientists like drama. It's good for funding.
We've been down this path many times before as you have said.
Every time it ends with "we were wrong....no life whatsoever"
So I'm in agreement with you.

The Universe is DEAD.

By all appearances, life of Earth sprung up almost immediately ... as soon a liquid water collected on the surface ... so theoretically, life should have sprung up on Mars' surface water as well ... we certainly have fossils on Earth from that time, we should find fossils on Mars from around that time ...

Can fossils form on Mars? ... does the fossil formation process need a water supply? ... or has the lack of water since early in his history prevent any sign of life of any kind today on Mars? ...

"Will work for rocket fuel" ...

Life has to be extremely rare in the universe.

The sun (ours is relatively small) is extremely toxic outside our atmosphere....

We are talking about living in a blend of nuclear radiation and a microwave oven.

Then our solar system is very circular in its orbit around the sun....only slightly elliptical.
Most planets are very elliptical. Meaning that temperature extremes of boiling steam to artic wastelands below -100C are the norm for one solar year.

And our space slot in distance from the sun is usually occupied by a gas giant like Saturn or Jupiter.

Microbial life in outer space is a pipe dream
