I moved one of my pension funds into something called a SIPP a couple of years back. Its basically a wrapper that lets you run your own pension scheme.I have individual stocks, muni bonds, and three real estate fundsI used to do that until I realised my investments were doing better than my funds.I pay somebody to look over my portfolio. It saves me from ulcers.
When I had my accident I had more time on my hands and started managing it actively. Despite a few cock ups Ive made good progress and spend at least an hour a day dealing with it. Still got a few funds managed by adults but its quite good fun.
