an interesting insight-------which lots of "white-lefties" (whoever they are) do not
quite grasp. DAILY GROUP PRAYER-----mostly for men-----is a middle eastern thing. It is a very interesting manifestation of SOCIETY that acts something like
THE MORNING NEWS (channel 2 is good) I do not know who invented it-----but JOOOS have been doing it for at least 2500 years. It works like this----
--the men---get up and get together early in the morning for "prayers"------they meet---they talk---share the "news" and then go home or to work. As a replacement for "THE NEWS" it works fantastically.
People in the town get to know-----and anyone passing thru knows how to find
out "what's going on" LATELY ----for muslims in the USA----this laudable
tool of the civilized world got SYMBOLIC as a power issue. There are lots of
jews who so engage without anyone "knowing" They actually do drop themselves into synagogues each morning for half an hour ---sometimes or
even every morning. In religious communities it is normative behavior-----but its not a big time PUBLIC ISSUE that leads to law suits anymore than sunday morning
in church is a legal issue. I have never heard of bus drivers going on
DEMONSTRATION if their schedules preclude Sunday morning at the first
Baptist church with a demand for SPECIAL BUS SCHEDULES

This is the problem with people on the left-wing. If you actually push your beliefs to their logical end, you end up destroyed by them.

You push multiculturalism, and them people take you up on it, and sue you for hindering their culture.

It reminds me of this guy in New York city who was a retail shop owner of one of the plush ritzy places. He protested for the rights of homeless people. Then the homeless started sleeping outside his shop, and of course customers stopped coming in. No one likes being harassed entering and leaving a store. Guess who called the police to get rid of the homeless he just protested in favor of?

You people do this all the time. Constantly. It's like the rich left-wingers that support 'squatters rights', from inside their gated communities with 24/7 security. Pretty easy to support squatters rights, when you don't have to worry about them squatting in your house with armed security at the gates....

Just for the record most gated communities are rights. We tend to keep liberals out.

Here in PG County, MD, the gated communities are wealthy blacks, running down the schools, yelling 'Racism!' and bitching about being kept down.

Outraged Muslims to Rally Against Amazon Over Alleged Lack of Prayer Rooms

Outraged Muslims are reportedly planning a May 1 demonstration at the Amazon headquarters in Seattle, Washington.


The company is under fire after several Muslim security guards demanded time and space to pray five times a day, while on the job.


The guards contend in a lawsuit filed this week that the subcontractor who employs them does not appropriately accommodate their faith and retaliates against those who speak out.


The Service Employees International Union and the guards allege that Amazon grants high-earning tech workers conference rooms to pray in, but they do not provide the same accommodation for contracted security officers during their law-mandated work breaks.

Amazon and the security contractor have refuted the allegations...

First of all, what company gives their employees 5 breaks a day?

Secondly, I doubt anyone would have a problem with
anyone using an empty conference room
during their lunch or break to pray!

Companies offer perks or benefits to their employees,
companies are running a business, not obligated
to run their business around their employees religion.

If these employees are part of a union,
their beef should be with the union and their contract.

These guards are free to find another job
with a company that better suits their needs.

yes------such has been my observation for decades. The last people to advocate
special "prayer rooms for muslims in public places"---WOULD be people who live
in gated communities ( IMHO )

Having worked at a place that was 75% Muslim, it was pretty much I'd be sitting there working, look up, and find the room empty.

When they get up and walk away to pray times, is was not a 'break'. They were special prayer times that only Muslims had.

Meaning, they got normal breaks like all the rest of us... but they also got up and prayed. During those times, non-Muslims were expected to work.

Basically, they got 3 prayer breaks, and 2 regular breaks.

If I got up and left the room during prayer time, because everyone else did, I would get reprimanded.

We also had a special room only for women. All women must work in that special women only room. The women only room, had a single male supervisor, because women were not allowed to be supervisors.

The only exception was for cleaners. The Islamic boss walked through one day, and said that cleaning product was too easy for men. So only women would clean from that day on. Good business sense, given they paid the women less money. He was from Palestine by the way.

Any time I hear some feminist talk about how oppressive Christianity is, I just laugh.

By the way, this was a business here in Hilliard Ohio. Just west of Columbus.
