MSNBC: Alec Baldwin / Actor turned MSNBC host turned politician

dear gawd, I didn't think that station could dig any lower in the garbage barrel..

but, they managed to do it

hope he doesn't call out his daughter is a pig on air

that station should be shunned people, nothing but garbage in garbage out

Pretty much agree except no matter how deep they ever dig in the garbage barrel they'll never come up with someone worse than the Rev. Al Sharpton.

Gotta tell ya.. Where would I ever to get to see Reverend Al doing his James Brown imitation? If there was no MSNBC.

Where? All over the media whenever he starts to froth over another phony injustice to some black at the hands of a white person, or white Hispanic for that matter. Numero Uno race pimp knows no bounds and the entire lefty media are the fluffers of the conk king.

That's true but it's got nothing to do with left or right. It has everything to do with his being spectacle. Television loooooves spectacle. Matter of fact it can't live without it.

Carnival sells; ideologies don't.

Alec Baldwin is heckled, tears up in testimony

Baldwin's accused stalker, Genevieve Sabourin, shouted comments at him throughout his testimony Tuesday.

In emotional testimony in New York, Alec Baldwin said Tuesday he and his accused stalker never had a sexual relationship, and called the onslaught of increasingly numerous voice mails and e-mails from her "nightmarish."

Canadian actress Genevieve Sabourin, arrested in 2012 and charged with 23 counts of harassment and one of stalking, the New York Daily News reports, heckled Baldwin throughout his time on the stand, with the judge threatening to hold her in contempt if the outbursts continued.

Sabourin would leave up to 30 voice mails per night and sent hundreds of e-mails to the 55-year-old actor; they started out simply lovelorn and pleading, the Associated Press reports, but became increasingly threatening to the actor.

When Baldwin denied the two had ever been romantically involved, Sabourin shouted, "You're lying!"

Sabourin maintains that she and the actor had a romantic fling in 2010, and says her attempts to contact him now are only for closure, according to the AP.

Alec Baldwin’s Comeuppance

Yes, he’s a jerk, but conservatives should not rush to condemn people for their speech.

lec Baldwin has quite the talent for insults. Among his recent contributions to the genre are “right-wing trash bag,” which was aimed at an aide to New York mayoral hopeful Joe Lhota; “thoughtless little pig,” which he threw wildly at his own daughter during a voicemail tirade; and a pair of aspersions that I consider to be his best work, “f***ing little bitch” and “toxic little queen,” both of which were delivered to a British gossip columnist who had provoked his ire. You’ll note the consistent rhythm of the last three: de-de-de-de-DA. Beautiful. Musical, even. The man can talk.

Baldwin certainly isn’t subtle, but when he is on form he really connects, spitting his invective in perfectly metered chunks. What Paul McCartney is to the three-minute pop song, Alec Baldwin is to the slur. Alas, his latest, the rather disappointing “c***sucking fag,” is not up to snuff. With its hard “G,” the epithet boasts the satisfying ending to which we’ve become so accustomed (“bag,” “pig”), but it doesn’t really scan properly, and, more significantly, it lacks the invention of his other work. If one is going to play on the sexuality of the victim, the ambiguous but acid “toxic little queen” is a doozy. “C***sucking fag” on the other hand? Too standard, and much more difficult to wriggle out of afterwards — as Baldwin’s astonishingly lame attempt demonstrated.

As sequels go, this was the last-ditch effort that even the most generous of critics couldn’t excuse. Among the notable public figures who felt compelled finally to leave his side were the American-British writer Andrew Sullivan and GLAAD’s own Rich Ferraro. Sullivan, who has evidently decided that Baldwin “cannot be defended any longer,” contended that Baldwin’s instincts under pressure “reveal who he actually is” and that what he “actually is” is a “raging, violent bigot.” Ferraro simply lamented that Baldwin had declined to turn his shouting into a learning opportunity. As a reward for their troubles, Sullivan and Ferraro were termed by Baldwin as part of “the fundamentalist wing of gay advocacy” and accused of “killing” his show.

I hear your message (for once ) and I'd love the circus to leave town. But the CLOWNS won't get out of the Big Top...

If we didn't equate outrage to politics --- there'd be no ratings. No ratings, no ad dollars.
Not that I want a BBC or NPR monopoly either..

And the problem is not entertainers in politics.. Several have done pretty well.. The problem is a media who really doesn't want to DO politics and public/internat policy issues.

Go buy yourself a couple good monthly journals.. And enjoy the circus...
