It is obvious that capitalism and democracy cannot exist side by side. Surely what is needed is a compromise - responsible capitalism wherby job creation is foremost - ECB should print money with conditions attached re fiscal policies.

Welcome to USMB, mariantrimble.

We can only have responsible job creation when government allows businesses to prosper.

The alternative is to lie down on the couch, string input lines from food and drug sources and output lines to a sewer while robots do the work.

The only problem is, in such a society, nobody wants to oil the robots without extra drugs to pull them through the ordeal, because you just can't get good help these days.

:lmao:

Capitalism operating as a servant to democracy is actually a pretty good formula for a functional society.

When capital becomes the master of that democracy, however, that democracy becomes a cruel joke.

Fortunately, we live in a Constitutional Republic. Whew! How lucky were we that the founders didn't opt for a democracy!
