Sure, if you like to live in slums. Remember, a lot of housing has a very short life expectancy. Trailers look like shit after eight or nine years. Yet they count as housing units started.

Alright I'll give this to you. I expected housing starts to be much higher during the speculative peak, but apparently they weren't.

It was the flipping of existings that comprised the bulk of the activity.

They were certainly much higher where I live, though.
