Now, here are all the corrupt news releases.

Home construction jumps 10.5 pct in August
The Associated Press - Alan Zibel - ‎1 hour ago‎
WASHINGTON - Home construction increased last month and applications for building permits also grew. The gains were driven mainly by apartment and condominium construction, not the much larger single-family homes sector.

New home construction surges - CNN

Housing Starts in US Increased More Than Forecast in August - Bloomberg

NOTE THAT EVERYTHING IS WORDED IN THE HEADLINES TO DECEIVE THE PUBLIC.

You're comparing housing starts between now and the peak of arguably the largest speculative bubble in US history???

There's way more sensible ways to point out deception by the government than THAT.

ACTUALLLLLLLLLY, PAULIE, The comparison is between normal and not normal. Normal if given a conservative estimate would be 1.2 million a month. Not normal is below 1 million a month. Severely abnormal would be below 600,000.

Where are we at Paulie? All I see is housing floundering around on the bottom. There is no growth here no matter how much the numbers are spinnnnnnned.

600K may be the new normal.

Some people believe there is enough housing in the US to sate the needs of 400 million people.

Sure, if you like to live in slums. Remember, a lot of housing has a very short life expectancy. Trailers look like shit after eight or nine years. Yet they count as housing units started.

Alright I'll give this to you. I expected housing starts to be much higher during the speculative peak, but apparently they weren't.

It was the flipping of existings that comprised the bulk of the activity.

They were certainly much higher where I live, though.
