The Repugs shot themselves in the foot by backing Rubio. Crist is a popular Governor and by forcing him to run as an Independent, the Repugs lost his vote in the Senate.

In the aftermath of the 2006 election, the right en masse decided that the 'fix' for the GOP was to move to the right. I tried to tell them they were nuts. They mocked me for doing so.

A little premature to claim a defeat. Isn't it?

What the Tea 'party' is doing in almost every place they're having success is making it more difficult for the GOP to win. Now some might argue that that was their goal all along,

to punish the GOP for not being conservative enough.

crist has a 60% approval rating as governor. barring any unforeseen circumstances, at some point, the dems will vote crist rather than allow rubio to win.
