More bad news for Republicans - Record car sales

Just saying, Chrysler has many factories based in America, they received a bail out loan, and they're performing well. This begs the question that if Romney had his way and they didn't get a bailout, would they still be doing well?

That's kind of a dumb question considering there is no possible way to know the answer to it.

U.S. car buyers flooded showrooms in September, sending auto sales to their highest level in more than four years. Overall sales were were up 13% from a year ago, according to sales tracker Autodata, which put the pace of sales at an annual rate of just under 15 million vehicles.

The economy is steadily ticking up, up and up and more and more Americans, every day realize this. Coupled with the fact that Americans have NOT forgotten who nor how we got to this mess, *cough* Bush *cough* Cheney *cough* Republican rule *cough*.

Meanwhile the Republicans are steadily proclaiming how DISMAL Obama has been the last 4 years and how bad the economy is, while many are simultaneously saying how THEIR OWN policies improved the status of their local economies.

I mean...these RWers are so mixed up and all over the place they can't tell Ess from Shinola.

And the public is SEEING it.

lol

I.K.R

Its what I've been saying the whole time, people just need to open their eyes a bit more.

Just imagine the implication for the future of the GOP if they get a president in (Bush) who just fucks everything to shit and then a liberal Democrat comes in and fixes everything, saves the day so to speak.

And I say fixes everything with purpose. GOP'ers in congress have been blocking everything Obama proposes under the thought "DER, we gotta block Obama cuz HE BAD an' HE LAWS IS BAD TOO" but...the steady and near constant recovery kind of says otherwise, doesn't it? Leaves a person to wonder how long this recovery would have actually lasted with GOP'ers congressional cooperation (AKA, people actually doing what their paid to do).

people just need to open their eyes a bit more.

including you.....you just sound like another poor unfortunate soul SUCKED in by one of the parties.....

{General Motors (GM, Fortune 500) reported only a 1.5% increase in sales from year-ago levels on Tuesday, while Ford Motor (F, Fortune 500) sales slipped 0.1%. Both results were a bit below forecast. }

WOW, Obama's company is kicking ass....

Well, we lost about $49,000 for each Volt sold. Ouch. But the bailout was meant to shore up union coffers, kick the investors in the teeth and hand more profits to unions. Screw the tax payers.

Cash for Clunkers was a poorly run program that cost tax payers dearly and didn't make a big difference other than a few getting a deal on a car.

I think some people want to buy the nicer vehicles before election. Some I talk to fear that if Obama gets re-elected, the only thing available will be GM cars. Liberals hate pickups, SUVs and luxury cars. Get 'em now while you still can. It's also getting more difficult to find parts for older vehicles. I think that was the goal of Cash for Clunkers since those vehicles were destroyed rather than allow them to be parted out.

Of course, housing sales have gone up because of so many foreclosures and sheriff sales that the buyers are getting cheap homes. Millions lost their homes, but a few people have been able to turn other people's loss into a gain. Many houses around here have been bought up by slumlords and many are being turned into government housing. The value will decrease as the homes get trashed.

A lot of homes went for less than half of what they are worth. For those with decent credit and a job, it's a buyer's market right now. Unfortunately, for every person who got a good deal on a house, hundreds, maybe thousands lost their homes.

Cash For Clunkers raised the price of used trucks. That has impacted the middle class more than other groups. Sort of a tax really. Thanks Obama!

it also took the older used cars off the street leaving those with lower incomes with nothing to buy.

It was a bone head program. Did nothing but give people reason to buy a new car sooner than they would have anyway.

+1 both of you.

Chris is such a tard

Dispute that fuckers. :clap2:

Those are lovely talking points however unemployment was under 8% when Obama took office and if you add the number of underemployed and those who have quit looking for work to the unemployment figures which we don't the rate would 10% or higher. I thought lefties did not like the stock market that is the domain of those evil 1% I see you gave no link to back up your claim the market has doubled also no link to back up the 5 million private sector jobs claim. GDP growth has been at anemic rate one of the reasons unemployment is still over 8% no link for net worth up ten trillion either auto sales are up on only one of the big three mainly because of overseas sales not domestic sales retail and home sales are not up drastically another reason for the continued 8% unemployment. Bin Laden is dead but given the recent attack in Libya it seems Al-Qaeda is still alive and recovering GM is one of the two big three who's sales are down not up. Everyone else can make up their mind about how good a job Obama has done your claims have been disputed here Endeth the lesson.

Congrats Mr. Obama on your second term!

Endeth the lesson indeed.

Funny you didn't dispute anything I posted in response to your challenge to dispute your claims not surprising of course but still funny.

A spike in car sales is good news to every American but the radical left sees it differently. They remember when hatred was the basis for left wing philosophy and Barney Frank engineered the collapse of Fannie Mae while democrats undermined the Military mission during a republican administration.

The spike in FOREIGN autos while American ones decline is NOT good news imo. Could have long term ramifications if the trend continues.
The left don't dig into the stats they just see a headline and regurgitate it without thought.
