More bad news for Obama liberals: Constitution is this year’s big best-seller

Oh, nonono - 'tis not the Conservatives who want to secede. The Conservatives want the LIBERALS to secede. Quickly. Go to any socialist country that will have you.

Note to Granny: See who won the last two elections

"We the People" have spoken

Well, let's see ... the last two elections ... Bush won one. I'm sure he did, because Obama took office after Bush. That sounds about right. So, yes, "We the People" are now expressing our outrage and trying to regain our government as set forth in the US Constitution. Which, by the way, is not a living, breathing document.

Wow. You are actually as stupid as everyone says you are.

2006/2008 = 2 elections

This isn't a bad thing for anybody. I think more people need to posses, read, and try to understand the Constitution. And for extra credit, the Federalist Papers, too. That way, it can become clear that neither party or ideology has a strangle-hold on its interpretation.

WTF? You actually think people have the critical thinking skills to do this? You have more faith in the common man than I do, or did many of the Founding Fathers.

Liberals are SURE not going to like that. They want us to believe...

Just what America needs, more semi literate morons misinterpreting centuries old documents as if they are the work of gods.

Demand for copies of the U.S. Constitution is skyrocketing.
The increased interest comes amid the rise of the Tea Party movement and as both parties cite the Constitution to advance their agendas.

The pocket edition of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence ranked 10th on the Government Printing Office’s (GPO) best-seller list in March.

Since September 2009, the GPO has sold more than 8,700 copies of the pocket Constitution to the public, according to GPO spokesman Gary Somerset. That is a higher sell rate than in recent years.

Those sales are in addition to the thousands of copies given to members of Congress each year. Congress authorized a resolution in 2009 to print 441,000 copies for the use of the House (1,000 for each member) and 100,000 copies for the Senate (1,000 for each senator).

Liberals are SURE not going to like that. They want us to believe in the Constitution being a "living document" as Al Gore called it. What's the translation for that one?

It means the Constitution means anything liberals say it does.

They don't want people actually READING the constitution. They might notice things like there IS a 2nd Amendment in there or there are no words like "separation of church and state."

Hey! We can't have that!

What about that 10th Amendment????? People might find out Arizona is perfectly within their rights to have enforce immigration laws.

OH WE DEFINITELY CAN'T HAVE THAT!:eek::eek:

More stuff for liberals to worry about, and more stuff for me to smile about. :D

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

"Liberals are SURE not going to like that. They want us to believe in the Constitution being a "living document" as Al Gore called it. What's the translation for that one?"

I've read the constitution.
and my sane and rational interpretation of it is that it IS a document that CLEARLY states that the people have a right to change either the constitution or the government if they so choose...

"It means the Constitution means anything liberals say it does."

where-as YOU believe that the constitution says exactly what YOU say it says....

so
what's the dif?

cons interpret the constitution one way
while liberals interpret the constitution correctly

"They might notice things like there IS a 2nd Amendment in there or there are no words like "separation of church and state."

other words you can NOT find in the constitution;

"this document can NOT be changed"
"this document is NOT open to interpretation"
"America is a CHRISTIAN NATION"

speaking of constitutional America....

I thank the LIBERAL constitution that

1. blacks now have the same rights as white men
2. women have the same rights as white men
3. gays are out of the closet everywhere and nobody cares!
4. blacks, women and gays are in the military, in politics, in business, in entertainment...
5. blacks and whites marry and nobody cares anymore
6. people have sex outside of marriage and nobody but dimwitted cons care about it
7. LOTS of loving couples live together these days without getting married.....and nobody cares...
8. the whole country is beginning to rethink the abominable and outdated pot laws

America...how wonderfully LIBERAL you have become!

Thanks to that LIBERAL interpretation of the constitution!

As I said before...thank god we did not have to rely on conservatives to write our constitution

Yes, I'm being post Ho, butt

and it's a BIG butt!

The title of this thread is HILARIOUS!!!

Of course, it goes without saying that I'm a couple of bowls in... ;)

Al Gore is a true dunce. I think more & more people are beginning to agree with me on that. I never bought into his "Living-Breathing Document" stuff. Some did but hey they're Socialists/Progressives,so?...

Liberals love the Constitution....so does the ACLU

The Bill of Rights contains all kinds of goodies to protect individual freedoms and piss off Conservatives

It is living to the extent that it may be changed by the Amendment process. But even that exercise was made particuliarally difficult by design.

But heck? who needs Amendments when our lawmakers are ignoring it anyway?

How are they being ignored?

We have a dilligent court system that ensures the constitution is adhered to. Ever hear of checks and balances?

Just because rightwing doctrine has been ignored by the newly elected congress doesn't make it unconstitutional. You need the courts to do that

Good luck

You mean the same courts that more oft than not subscribe to Social engineerng by the Government? Legislating from the Bench ring a bell?
Not any Conservative Judges I'm aware of subscribe to your projections.

Or are you off-continent and speaking EU or some ofhter Despotic Government?

Check and Balances eh? You don't know the meaning sir, much less the Constitution itself.

???
Why would you want to buy a copy of the Constitution. It's a public document and if it wasn't it'd be public domain by now. I can find a copy of it online and order it be printed within minutes.

The courts are a Constitutional keystone of our government, as are the executive and legislative branches. There are both conservative and liberal judges as well as modrates, the mix will swing depending on who is in power. Like the other branches of government, some decisions are good and some are poor. Over time, the poor ones get overturned

It does not mean that what the courts do are unconstitutional

"legislating from the bench" is just another in a long line of bullshit talking points conservative whine about when its a ruling they don't like. When its a ruling they do like, they never claim its legislating from the bench.

If a law is passed that's deemed unconstitutional, that's what the courts rule on, as that is their job. Period, no legislating there.

Conservatives play a heads we win tails you lose game with the Constitution.

They claim they are the ones most closely following and correctly interpreting the Constitution, except that magically, if you interpret the Constitution correctly - THEIR version of correctly - it just happens to amazingly support every aspect of the partisan conservative agenda!
