Mitt Romney Unfit For Government

<Lakota's post above, omitted for space purposes>

When I think of "unfit for government"...well...the correct terminology would be "unfit for president", but given your political views, this generalization is of no surprise. To get to the points, when I think of "unfit for president", Barack Hussein Obama is a glowing, flashing, neon example of just that.

When I think of 4 straight years of trillion dollar deficits, causing a downgrade in our ratings - losing our AAA status, bringing forth more debt in less than 4 years than George W. Bush did in 8 years, giving us an attrocious GDP. That is someone who is unfit for being president. In 6 years of Republican control of the house, senate and president Bush, $3.4 trillion in new debt, yet in just one year under Democrat control and Barack Obama, they managed $3 trillion in spending...in just 1 year!!! That is someone who is unfit for being president.

When we have a president using class warfare, racial division and is using the strategy of divide and conquer like Obama has, that is unfit for president.

When you a president overreacts and attacks the Cambridge, MA Police Dept, because they arrested his friend, that is someone who is unfit for office. Oh, but hey, he had a beer summit to make up for it, LOL!!!

When you have president with U3 and U6 unemployment numbers the way they are, and one of the worst all time labor participation rates....ever, that is someone who is unfit for being president.

When you have a president who has radical associations like Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Tony Rezko and Van Jones, just to name just a few, that is someone who is unfit for being president.

When you tell successful people, "you didn't build that", that is someone who is unfit for president.

When you are angrier at your political opponent for standing up and showing his outrage at the attacks in Egypt and Libya, than you are at the people who perpetrated this attack...when you sympathize with the attackers, that is someone who is unfit for being president.

When you overthrow the leaders of Libya and Egypt in hopes this will score you trophy points as being great on foreign policy, only to watch it turn into an absolute disaster, and it has.....that person is unfit for being president. Keep in mind, the last ambassador to be murdered was under Jimmy Carter, most interesting.

When you vow to have the most transparent administration ever, yet use executive priviledge to cover up a major scandal, Fast & Furious", that is someone who is unfit to be president.

When you think the United States of America has 57 states, and you have a wife who for the first time was proud of America, that is someone who is unfit to be president and another person who is unfit to be first lady.

In conclusion, your post and your links are nothing but a desperate, yet sickening attempt to villify Romney rather than those who attacked us. Obama's speeches regarding the attacks were weak, completely lacking conviction and heart, almost like the only reason he even said anything was because Romney's comments put him on the spot and Obama's approach and demeanor was, "ughhh, I guess I better do this."

Romney has Obama on this one.....and one now has to think back to Romney's comments at the RNC of, "when Barack Obama took office, the first thing he did was go on an apology tour".

This one is gonna hurt Obama, and if Romney plays his cards right with this, he will knock Obama out in the first debate and it'll be all over. I know this simply because of how frantic, distraught and vile the media is, Obama is and people like you are.
4 straight years of trillion dollar deficits - losing our AAA status - atrocious GDP - class warfare - racial division - divide and conquer - use executive privilege to cover up a major scandal, Fast & Furious - when Barack Obama took office, the first thing he did was go on an apology tour -

That's a horrific scenario our nation has undergone for 4 years, and the press is playing the Sound of Silence like never before.

It's time to take some of Romney's Peptol Bismol and have the nation heal, if it can. Fiscally, we underwent two downgrades. Obama knew we got the first downgrade, and he went on another trillion dollar spending binge after he knew we did. He personally brought about the second downgrade, and he exclusively should pay the price for doing it. Evidence of his tantrum doesn't have to be in kicking a door or smashing a podium in his extreme hateful anger; it is his destruction of fiscal America like so many American flags his ilk would like to burn.

Americans are tired of it. And murdering Ghadafi to be replaced by murderous alQaeda-affiliated Muslim Brotherhood haters who murder ambassadors? That is a total, complete, bizarro-world fiasco that came about by pulling out troops before stability was brought to regions of the world our troops secured initially.

Yet, Obama convinces people the blame is someplace else...

He's making America sick.

Mitt Romney will do the opposite. Romney will make America proud, repair fiscal America, represent us well overseas, support the efforts of the troops and not destroy them.

Please vote for Mitt Romney in November. We need a restoration of civility in government. Obama temper-tantrums are intolerable indignities.

Proud? You have to be kidding. How is being a continual liar and manipulator of fact going to restore any civility here at home or abroad. No foreign leader will trust him. No one that doesn't have Mittens in their pocket can expect a fair and level playing field in a Romney administration. I'm sure he will make the Koch brothers happy.. The average American... not so much.

Yet, less than 24 hours later, Obama is following Romney's lead.............what does that say?? That the police acted stupidly or Obama's son would look like Trayvon??

Obama shoots first and never actually aims and misses a lot. :)

You are insane. and funny... Kinda a crazy funny..

The obvious responsible thing to do when American citizens and public officials are under physical threat abroad and when the details are unknown, and events spiraling, is to stay silent. If the event happens on the day of September 11 and you are a candidate for president and have observed a political truce, all the more reason to wait to allow the facts to emerge. After all, country before party, right? American lives are at stake, yes? An easy call, no?

But that's not what the Romney camp did. What they did was seize on a tweet issued by someone in the US Embassy before the attacks in order to indict the president for "sympathizing" with those who murdered a US ambassador after the attacks. Unfuckingbelievable. Here's the embassy statement from earlier in the day that set off the neocons:

The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

The statement came from someone in the embassy, and was not formally issued by the State Department or the White House, both of which have subsequently disavowed the tweet for not also defending absolute freedom of speech. The facts were still murky last night. But the Romney campaign immediately tried to shoe-horn yesterday's fog of mob violence into the "apology" rubric Romney loves so much. The Priebus tweet is disgusting. The first Romney statement is no better:

“I’m outraged by the attacks on American diplomatic missions in Libya and Egypt and by the death of an American consulate worker in Benghazi. It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

That's untrue. The Obama administration did not issue the tweet, which was, in any case, tweeted before the attacks, not after. Today, Romney doubled down on these two obvious misstatements:

“We join together in the condemnation of attacks on the American embassies and the loss of American life and join in sympathy for these people. It’s also important for me — just as it was for the White House, last night by the way — to say that the statements were inappropriate, and in my view a disgraceful statement on the part of our administration to apologize for American values...

A brief moment of digression: the White House disowned a statement it itself did not release - but is then equally responsible for the tweet itself? The mind boggles. Then this, apparently, is an apology for American values:

Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.

Unfortunately for you most Americans do not believe your rote echo chamber assessment of Obama. What they do remember is how badly Bush fucked up the economy and the Mid East. What they do remember is that Ossama is dead and GM is alive. AND most Americans know republicans lie.

Romney gave the statement one would expect of a national US leader. He supported the country. obama does not. No amount of media spin is going to change that.

The only spinning that will be needed is to repair the damage Romney did to his campaign.

He just proved why he is unfit to be president. The condemnation of Romney's statement is not just coming from the left.

“Bungle… utter disaster…not ready for prime time… not presidential… Lehman moment.” And that's just the Republicans.

Foreign Policy Hands Voice Disbelief At Romney Cairo Statement

"They were just trying to score a cheap news cycle hit based on the embassy statement and now it’s just completely blown up," said a very senior Republican foreign policy hand, who called the statement an "utter disaster" and a "Lehman moment" — a parallel to the moment when John McCain, amid the 2008 financial crisis, failed to come across as a steady leader.

He and other members of both parties cited the Romney campaign's recent dismissals of foreign policy's relevance. One adviser dismissed the subject to BuzzFeed as a "shiny object," while another told Politico that the subject was the "president's turf," drawing a rebuke from Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol.

"I guess we see now that it is because they’re incompetent at talking effectively about foreign policy," said the Republican. "This is just unbelievable — when they decide to play on it they completely bungle it."

Romney has not backed off the response — "It's never too early for the United States government to condemn attacks on Americans and to defend our values," he said Wednesday — but his campaign faces a near consensus in Republican foreign policy circles that, whatever the sentiment, Romney faltered badly.

"It’s deeply unfortunate when the circumstance of the statement becomes the story," said Rick Perry's former foreign policy adviser, Victoria Coates, who is now an adjunct fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, and who suggested that Romney should simply have "gone earlier rather than save it for midnight" to avoid appearing to play politics on September 11. "It’s unfortunate that it’s playing out this way, and hopefully they can get back on message, because their point is sound," she said.

Other conservatives were less sympathetic.

"It's bad," said a former aide to Senator John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign. "Just on a factual level that the statement was not a response but preceding, or one could make the case precipitating. And just calling it a 'disgrace' doesn't really cut it. Not ready for prime time."

A third Republican, a former Bush State Department official, told BuzzFeed, "It wasn't presidential of Romney to go political immediately — a tragedy of this magnitude should be something the nation collectively grieves before politics enters the conversation."

It's astonishing how the Obama supporters can still try and defend the Obama disaster both domestically and in foreign affairs.

He is an incompetent idiot.

Romney, as an American citizen had, every right and as our next president had an obligation to speak up on behalf of the United States. We don't apologize for free speech and we should have a policy to appease terrorists. Too bad Obama couldn't have stood up for us as well. Instead,,short speech then off to Vegas. Obama needs to go back to Chicago where his incompetence can do no harm.

The embassy in Cairo is not The Administration. There is no proof that Obama knew of that statement in real time. I doubt if Mrs Clinton did.
