Arrested live on air, now that's different. Gives a whole new meaning to Reality TV.

In fairness, this is sort of like those small businesses who opened up and were arrested, while big businesses have been open the entire time.

'Clear violation' of 1st Amendment: CNN

During the protests, the Minnesota State Patrol arrested a CNN journalist reporting live on television early Friday morning without giving any reason, leading him and others from his crew away in handcuffs.

Omar Jimenez had just shown a protester being arrested when about half a dozen white police officers surrounded him.

"We can move back to where you like," he told the officers wearing gas masks and face shields, before explaining that he and his crew were members of the press. "We're getting out of your way."

CNN called it a clear violation of their First Amendment rights and called for the release its three employees, which eventually occurred.

I saw that ridiculously staged event. Very laughable.

Honestly, and sadly, it wouldn't surprise me. Though looking into this arrest they did get coverage in other media and the governor apologized.

90% of the rioters are holding iPhones and recording, any can claim to be a “journalist” exercising their first amendment rights, as if that gives them the right to vandalize, loot, and attack cops.

This journalist refused to move out of the area, so he got detained. Big deal, he wasn’t charged with anything and let go.

Stupid CNN reporter should have been ransacking the police headquarters so he wouldn’t be arrested.
