It's the ladies. Howard Stern made a show of being grossly obscene and inappropriate, the ladies loved it. He was a womanizer or a ladies' man and they accepted him for that as long as he stayed in that role where he would never be considered legitimate, or refuse the alcohol he was served off the set.

Hint: 'Jeopardy' is a family show.

The guy who drinks a beer "with the guys" after work is the same man who fathers a family most of the time. Whether or not the men are behaving "appropriately" around the children as judged by their wives and the cops, is a whole other matter.

Nowadays U.S. military servicemen commonly drink alcohol with the guys on their bases.

At the time of the Civil War this was strictly forbidden, because a man who habitually drank alcohol with other men was said to be in fraternization with them.

Nor was it allowed for them to patronize bars or taverns. So the only option for alcohol then was the liquor store, and since the consumption of alcohol was forbidden on a military base, the only way they could do it was to picnic at a park on a private outing on the gentlemanly assumption that the soldier was dating a nice lady.

That's I think the reason that they decided to deep-six Mr. Richards' career- to give the job to Levar.

Brand-new "Jeopardy" host Mike Richards lost his dream job on the beloved quiz show after questionable past conduct came to light.

So he doesn't think he did or said anything wrong? The kind of comments he made to women who were on the job are considered sexual harassment. Because it's some type of show that's supposed to excuse his remarks?

He never apologized for what he did only that the fallout had negative repercussions for others affiliated with the show. He has me convinced that he's not sorry for anything.

I actually think Levar Burton would be a great choice. At least he has a personality. The Mike guy seems about as exciting as a three day old Bowl of oatmeal.
