These programs have been going on since the 1920s and you box of rocks nuts claim it is Michele Obama mandating this. LOL, too funny!!
Since 1920, after WWI when the military wanted it mandated, health based physical fitness and health programs in the schools WERE MANDATED BY GOVERNMENT.
The difference was back then the public was smart enough to listen and hailed these programs. Government in the 40s merged the Department of School Health and Physical Education and the American Physical Education Association.
In the early parts of the 20th century the public supported government involvement in health education, physical education and the role government and public health professionals had in the health of school children. Citizens in the early 1900s would have rathered stood up and farted in church than be accused of not supporting government's role in the health of school children.
Of course that was before Limbaugh, Hannity and Coulter and their whacky kook conspiracy theories.
Wake up. This is not about politics and quit twisting it to comform it to an ideology. This is about the health of children that grow up to be adults. As it is now we are a very unhealthy nation that spends FAR TOO MUCH on health care with poor results from it. That is a national security problem. Anyone that fails to see that has blinders on.
