Memorial Day weekend: Lower Gas Prices: Where are all the threads praising the Pres?

The price of a barrel of oil in July 2008 was $145.29

Now gas was $3.64 For July 2011 and the price of a barrel of oil was $94.94

How come oil was $50.34 more expensive in 2008 and yet gas is only .48 cents cheaper?

That is an EXCELLENT question.

For the answer, I would suggest you look into how many refinery closings there have been in the last few years.

Combine that with rampant speculation, and there you have it.

High gas is good, gets those pesky joe six packs to use public transportation. That's what liberals want, but they will never use if of course.

$3.19 a gallon and still dropping

Gas is closer to $2 a gallon than the $5 a gallon Republicans were crowing about all winter

3.51 gallon today. That's up nearly 15 cents in a week

You must live in a real shithole to be experiencing that trend while the national average has been steadily declining.

Current Avg. $3.487
Yesterday Avg. $3.497
Week Ago Avg. $3.539
Month Ago Avg. $3.689

Daily Fuel Gauge Report--national, state and local average prices for gasoline, diesel and E-85.

It's dropped another four cents here in the last week.

Kansas City is a shithole?

That's a new one.
