The kid lost his leg and a judge determined that his mother was at fault. He is not in "medical custody", he was released to his paternal grandparents and his mother has free access to him but apparently she want's to have a say in his medical treatment which the Judge has correctly denied her.
After a leg amputation and years of trying to find treatment, his mother took him to the experts at Luries Children’s Hospital in Chicago for surgery. It was successful, she says, but Isaiah developed complications, and the hospital could not control his pain. Michelle says she asked for Isaiah to be transferred to another hospital, and that’s when the trouble started.
“They lied and said a lot of hurtful things about my mom,” insisted Isaiah in September 2014.

Instead of transferring Isaiah to another hospital, doctors petitioned for the state to take custody, claiming medial abuse, something Isaiah denies.
Like I said. Lies. Even the "victim" agrees his mother did nothing wrong. What happened is these hospitals don't like being told they are fucking up or their patients want 2nd opinions so they medically kidnap them.

It ain't unusual for an abused kid to refuse to blame his parents or in this case his mother. He probably isn't even aware of the bad decisions that led to the loss of his leg and the Judge who ruled in the case probably based his ruling on a ton of evidence that wasn't furnished in the poorly written article. It isn't like he had a scar or a bruise on his arm that was reported to authorities, he lost his freaking leg and he ain't in hospital custody, he is living with his grandparents.
He wasn't. Period. The 17 year old says he was fine and his mother says it. Even the news says he was kidnapped after asking for 2nd opinion...its happening a lot lately.We are only getting one side of the story so it's hard to say for certain whether or not the judge was justified in his decision.
Whatever happened before is not relevant. He's 18. He is an adult. He can make his own decisions!
