Michael Moore Blames All Americans for Mass Shootings: ‘It’s Just Simply Us,’ ‘Not Mental Illness,’ Video Games
March 9, 2018 | Liberal activist filmmaker producer Michael Moore declared Friday that being American is the cause of mass shootings in the country.
Moore took to Twitter to tell his “fellow Americans” that mental illness and violent video games aren’t the culprits – “it’s just simply us.” “Sorry, fellow Americans, it’s not mental illness & it’s not the video games. It’s just simply us.” “Every other country has mental illness & video games. 80 percent of mass shooters in US showed no interest in video games, researcher says.”

As his proof, Moore tweeted a link to a CBSNews.com story quoting a psychologist claiming a statistic that only one in five mass shooters have an interest in video games - with no additional detail or documentation: “But psychologist Patrick Markey's research shows 80 percent of mass shooters did not show an interest in violent video games. "It seems like something that should make us safer so it's a totally understandable reaction," Markey said. "The problem is just the science, the data, does not back up that they actually have an effect."

The only other comment by Markey in the article is a claim that crime actually drops when a new video game comes out: “In fact, Markey said his work shows when a new violent game is released, crime actually drops.”

Did American Right-Wing Trolls Radicalize The Quebec Mosque Shooter?

If one ever needed a handy reminder of the disturbing connection between right-wing punditry and the possible radicalization of a troubled mind, look no further than the man who shot and killed six innocent men in a Canadian mosque in January.

The sentencing hearing, currently underway in Quebec City, has exposed Bissonnette’s penchant for right-wing media and raised questions about if and how his fascination with that propaganda influenced his murderous rampage.

Included in the evidence shown to reporters covering the sentencing was a list of the Twitter accounts Bissonnette checked obsessively in the month leading up to his attac

It shows a man consuming a steady diet of predominantly U.S. pundits and conspiracy theorists, most of whom are right-wing, anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim.

The court evidence showed Bissonnette searched the internet over 800 times for U.S. President Donald Trump from Jan. 1 to Jan. 29. He agreed with Trump’s Muslim travel ban, was against immigration to Quebec and was inspired by French far-right politician Marine Le Pen. But the report suggests he was obsessed with U.S. right-wing pundits and professional alt-right trolls.

Bissonnette did not have his own Twitter account, but at the very top of the list of accounts he checked the most was that of Ben Shapiro, a conservative political commentator, columnist, TV host, editor-in-chief of The Daily Wire and former editor-at-large of Breitbart News. Bissonnette checked Shapiro’s site a staggering 93 times in the month preceding the murders. Shapiro is known for routinely making anti-Arab and anti-Muslim comments online and on his websites, a habit that has placed him on the Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hatewatch.

Bingo! Not that hard to comprehend.Well maybe for some it is.

A Coast Guard officer suspected of drawing up a hit list of top Democrats and network TV journalists spent hours on his work computer researching the words and deeds of infamous bombers and mass shooters while also stockpiling weapons, federal prosecutors said Thursday.

Lt. Christopher Paul Hasson, 49, was ordered held without bail on drug and gun charges while prosecutors gather evidence to support more serious charges involving what they portrayed as a domestic terror plot by a man who espoused white-supremacist views.

So Op’s point is proven once again.
