Mario Cuomo's Liberal View of Reagan's Shining City on a Hill

That's why Reagan is a volume of world history and Democrats from Mondale, Cuomo and Dukakis are footnotes.
Huh?

Dumbo post.

Comparing a President with failed candidates? What's next, pointing out Reagan gets a Presidential Library and Mondale, Cuomo, and Dukakis don't?

btw, what does Dukakis have to do with Reagan? u be a dumb fock from MA?

Oh, so socialistic ideology and divisive politics is a pretty old Leftist tactic that Hussein Oblahblah has most recently perfected, eh? What a revelation that is.

a "divisive politics" whine from the right wing?

It's the inconvenient truth. Has this president done anything but divide and make Americans hate each other? He's a divider not a uniter.

Maybe the leftist PMSNBC aka MSLSD audience are better. Who knows.

please, the GOP strategy from day one has been to go after Obama's popularity

The theory went like this. With large majorities in the House and Senate, it was obvious that lots of Democratic bills would pass. But the White House would be generous and make concessions to Republicans who were willing to leap on the bandwagon. Consequently, incumbent Republicans from states Obama won (Maine, New Hampshire, Ohio, North Carolina, Indiana, Nevada) would be eager to cut deals in which they backed Obama bills in exchange for key concessions. With that process under way, many Republicans who weren’t even that vulnerable would be eager to cut deals as well, in search of a piece of the action. As a result, bills would pass the Senate with large 70- to 75-vote majorities, and Obama would be seen as the game-changing president who healed American politics and got things done.

McConnell’s counter plan was to prevent those deals. As McConnell told Josh Green, the key to eroding Obama’s popularity was denying him the sheen of bipartisanship, and that meant keep Republicans united in opposition[.]

Yglesias then quotes McConnell as saying “We worked very hard to keep our fingerprints off of these proposals,” and adds himself:

To prevent Obama from becoming the hero who fixed Washington, McConnell decided to break it. And it worked. Six years into the affair, we now take it for granted that nothing will pass on a bipartisan basis, no appointment will go through smoothly, and everything the administration tries to get done will take the form of a controversial use of executive power.

Now you're making up irrelevant stuff. I was talking about dividing Americans, not the usual squabbling in the congress. The reason Mc Connell is where he is, is because people are sick and tired of the president's lies, policies and failures. That's why Democrats are jumping off the Obama ship. And if they don't get their act together the republicans will attain a super majority in 2016, whether or not Hillary becomes president.

January 10, 2017, the end of an error.

Never said that. Republicans have their fuckups too. You have to admit that Obama squandered an historic opportunity to be a great president like Clinton or Reagan, instead he's going down as one of the worst, like Jimmy Carter.

Funny how you admit that Obama and all the intellectual Democrat socialist crowd behind him, especially with the backing of the leftist media that kept bailing Obama out, got outsmarted by a bunch of southern rednecks.

You're falling for the Obama talking points. If Americans were racist they wouldn't vote for Obama over Hillary, and then vote for Obama twice over two white men.

Why don't you listen to what NY Democrat Senator Schumer said...."we made a mistake in the beginning, we had a mandate and both houses, but instead of focusing on the economy and making people's lives better, we focused on bills and policies that were controversial more damaging to the economy and the middle class"

And speaking of "cooperation" exactly what cooperation did Obama show when they had both houses and the white house? ZERO. They basically shoved the Health Care and other radical bills that Americans wanted no part of, down peoples throats, without even asking the republican's to be part of it. Obama basically acted like a mafia boss with his two henchmen Pelosi and Reed paving the way for him. Now that he fucked it all up and facing the consequences of his actions and failures both domestically and internationally, he's turning the tables whining about republican lack of cooperation. What a pathetic character we have for president.

Like I said, depending on how the republicans play their cards, we are probably looking at a super majority in 2016 and possibly a republican in the white house. And so far it looks like they're on track, by trying to get rid of Boehner as majority leader.

Payback is always is bitch.

Yeah, and despite the fact that Americans proved they aren't racists, he kept playing the race card and other cards. Blacks against whites, Blacks against cops, rich verses poor, religious verses secular, 1% verses 99%, oil companies verses environmentalists, capitalism verses socialism, etc. etc. The asshole did everything to divide and nothing to unite. But did he divide and conquer like he planned? It doesn't look like it.

We might see that if Hillary decides not to run in 2016. It will definitely be a bloodbath.
