NABLUS, (PIC)-- MP Mona Mansour said on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of land day on Tuesday that resistance was the only road possible to restore usurped lands.
The lawmaker said that the negotiating table would not restore rights but rather resistance was the only viable option in this direction.
Land day is marked by Palestinians across the divide on the 30 March every year since 1976, when in response to the Israeli government's announcement of a plan to expropriate thousands of dunums (1 Dunum= 1000 square meters) of land for "security and settlement purposes", a general strike and marches were organized in Palestinian towns across 1948 occupied Palestine.
In the ensuing confrontations with the Israeli army and police, six Palestinian citizens were killed, about one hundred were wounded, and hundreds of others arrested.
Mansour: Resistance is the best bet to liberate the land
