My position is pro truth anti censorship pro first amendment which unfortunately allows for propaganda. So while I don’t support propaganda I do recognize it as a legal form of speech for American citizens. I am anti election interference from foreign countries so if Russia is flooding our media with misinformation I’m fine with initiatives to try and identify and curb it.You lost this debate long ago. Well in this case after a 2016 election that involved unprecedented foreign interference and disinformation, our intel agencies and professionals were on full alert. They saw earmarks of disinformation and they took action. I see that as a form of protection and not political activism.
You twisting that into censorship and propaganda is simple a right wingnut talking point. But the facts don’t align. The circumstances around the stories popping out at the time were highly unregulated and the media outlets decided on their own what they wanted to do. There was never any government force or even specific requests to do anything with the laptop story.
