I'm not sure how the taxes work down in Ecuador, but say each resident in the lawsuit has to give up say 50%. That's still about $150,000 each. Even if they're lucky enough to get 50k each after the lawyers make their 'cut', that is way more than what they would make in 10 lifetimes. It can be disasterous. The best thing to do is pool the money and invest it in farming, schools and a hospital, but . . .
