Liberals claim this is about income inequality. This is far from the truth. This is about creating another divisive issue. Nothing more.

Today there is a nationwide March against McDonald's to protest unfair wages. Paid protesters marching for fair wages organized n the usual suspects. Socialist/Marxist labor groups acting like they only want to look out for the poor.

What happens when the costs cancel out profits? You guessed it. Prices go up. Who suffers the most from inflation?

The poor.


What happens when your customers stop buying your product? Layoffs.

So who is really getting screwed by these protesters?

The employee.

NEW YORK — The campaign to get fast-food workers paid at least $15 an hour resumes later this week.

Union organizers say workers will walk off their jobs Thursday in 150 cities nationwide. Restaurants that they say will be affected include McDonald’s, Burger King , Wendy’s and KFC, which is owned by Yum Brands.

The action would be the latest in a two-year effort to get employers to pay them a minimum wage of $15 an hour and allow them to form unions without retaliation.

Nancy Salgado, a 27-year-old single mother of a 3-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, plans to strike.

Salgado works at a McDonald’s in the Logan Square area of Chicago earning $8.25 an hour, or about $600 a month take home pay.

How many 'franchises' will tell the employees marching in front of the business: "Don't bother to come to work tomorrow folks. I'm closing the business down as of now and laying you all off permanently. I may renovate or just stay closed for good. If I reopen you all are welcome to drop off your applications".
All fast food franchises operate on very low profit margins. It's the only way to stay competitive. If they had to pay their staff twice what they are making now what would that do to the price of a Big Mac?
Fast food franchises are basically the poor's grocery store. Salt/sugar/fat and lots of 'special seasoning AKA MSG at low prices the poor can afford. Ironic that the LIBs Black voter base will be the ones to suffer the most. "That will be twelve bucks for the Big Mac and small Coke".
"That's OK, I think I'll catch the bus and travel an hour each way to get to the closest grocery store that my neighbor's young Black men haven't robbed/looted and burned in my neighborhood and buy some fresh vegetables".

There is a reason why these pitiful people work for fast food places. They are not particularly intelligent. It's like watching blacksmiths fight for higher wages to shoe horses and make swords. They are taking to the streets to fight to become obsolete.

Except, paying a livable wage wouldn't raise the prices very much - unless of course, the owners lied like the pizza jerk and others lied about ObamaCare.

The subject line of this thread is a lie. It says 'war on fast FOOD' but its really about the R's war on the middle class in America.

OTOH, fast food isn't really food at all.

I can get an 8" sub from a locally owned and operated food establishment. It includes a table and waitress. For $8.50 I have food and pay a $2 tip. Fast food isn't that much cheaper.

Entry level jobs are not meant to pay for all of life's expenses. It is for experience and motivation to get a better job. Kill off fast food joints, I'll not shed a tear.

Fast food will not be killed off. It's here to stay. The delivery is changing now. In Europe and Japan the change over has started already. Demands for impossible wages can only accelerate the change.
