The media and the Left are going all-in attacking Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, who committed the sin of saying something that upset them when he was discussing illegal Mexican immigrants.

A presidential candidate refusing to be PC? Nah, can’t have that. The Hispanic network Univision and NBC have both tried to trump Trump because they say his comments were too harsh. The outrage community (what conservatives call Social Justice Warriors or SJWs) wasn’t far behind.

It’s all part of the Modern American Witch Hunt that consumes the news media right now. But this witch hunt is enhancing Trump’s fan base. He’s currently running second in both New Hampshire and Iowa polls. Despite Trump’s less-than-conservative background, right wingers like a politician that won’t surrender to another Borking.

If journalists aren’t careful, this witch hunt might end with Trump laughing them right out of their plastic coated studios. But journalists aren't all bad. Thanks to Dan Gainor for the ideas in this OP.

Democrats would love nothing more than Trump to be the GOP presidential nominee.
Doesn't matter what they love. He's kicking ass, and that will continue straight to November 2016. LOL. Can you imagine a debate between Trump and Hillary ? What would Hillary be like in that ? Can you spell "mincemeat" ?

“This is a winning issue,” former U.S. Rep. Michelle Bachmann, R-Minn., asserted to WND.

“Working Americans want to see us hit the pause button on immigration, as we did from the 1920s for decades, as America sought to assimilate decades of immigration, and that was without a welfare state. Stand up for the American worker, wages and jobs, prioritizing our people first. That’s a winning issue every time.”

And the polls bear out her claims.

In fact, polls show it is such a winning issue, it may be hard to fathom why the GOP has not seized upon opposition to increased immigration as one of its top priorities.

  • A Reuters poll found Americans, by an almost 3 to 1 margin, wish to see immigration reduced, not increased; 45 percent want to see a reduction, 17 percent want to see an increase and 38 percent think it should stay the same.
  • 63 percent said immigrants are a burden on the economy.
  • 70 percent believed illegal immigration threatens traditional U.S. beliefs and customs.
  • Gallup found 60 percent are dissatisfied with the level of immigration into the country today. That was an increase of six percentage points from 2014.
  • A Pew poll showed 69 percent want to restrict and control immigration rates. That included 72 percent of whites, 66 percent of blacks, and, significantly, 59 percent of Hispanics.
  • And, despite the constant refrain from big business that it hires immigrants because there are jobs “Americans won’t do,” the Polling Company found overwhelming support for raising wages rather than filling jobs by recruiting foreigners, by a margin of 75 percent to 8 percent.
  • That overwhelming support was found among Hispanics, African-Americans, Republicans and Democrats.

Trump can't even handle his synthetic follicles let alone the backlash from the "cheap labor" advocates in his own party. Yep, the unions and their workforce are concerned about immigration, both illegal and legal as your polls indicate. But none are so naive as to entrust a Donald Trump with the reins of the presidency when he has voice been less than sensitive to the hispanic populace when describing what he sees as "inferior" people who bring disease and crime with them when they come here , legally or not.

Had he been more cordial in addressing the issue of immigration, he might have earned consideration from the majority of people taking those polls. Now, he has succeeded in alienating many of them.

The GOP has taken notice and likely are hoping that the Donald will just move on and fade away. Since the republican base is fond of heap labor, they want to avoid the topic as an issue. But who knows, money talks and BS walks!

1. I'm a Hispanic person. I don't see Trump being "less than sensitive" to me, in any way at all, and you didn't present any evidence of that. I never heard him say we are inferior people. I'm only hearing YOU say that.

2. I see nothing wrong with how Trump has addressed the immigration issue, and I challenge you to show how anything he said about it is wrong.

3. The part of the GOP base that is linked to cheap, foreign labor are RINOs who are anti-US worker, who agree with Hillary, and so are you, if you back her, and not Trump.

A witch hunt is Benghazi and emails.

Trump is a criminal.

You sure have an odd way of spelling "mincemeat." Looks like it's really spelled, "Hillary landslide."

Fox News poll confirms: Hillary Clinton won the debate in a landslide
She LOST IN A LANDSLIDE. Proof is can you name ONE THING she brought to the table (of SUBSTANCE) on the economy or national security ? She has NOTHING but her big phony smiles and laughs.
LOLOL

Your denials are noted and laughed at. Debates are not won and lost by schmucks like you trying to parse the participants' responses. They're won and lost by the polls. There is no other accurate and unbiased measure.

And even right leaning Fox admits Hillary won in a landslide.
