This odious piece of shit legislation no doubt is hailed as the Civil Rights Act of the 21st century. It proposes to create a new protected class, homosexuals. Of course what it does it provide more fodder for trial lawyers. Some employee gets fired because he/she is grossly incompetent and voila, he comes out as gay. Bang, discrimination suit.
Let's flush this piece of shit legislation. If companies like Apple want a written non-discrimination policy, let them do it. No point in mandating it for everyone.

Are you saying that gay people will come out and then file a discrimination suit, or that straight people will pretend to be gay to file a discrimination suit?

I see the left really believes in "equal protection"...

Except when it comes to their supporters.. then it's extra special protection.

John Boehner Opposes ENDA, Dealing Blow To Bill's Chances

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) affirmed on Monday morning that he would oppose a law that would prohibit discrimination against gay and lesbian employees in the workplace, citing the possibility that it would put a financial burden on businesses.

"The Speaker believes this legislation will increase frivolous litigation and cost American jobs, especially small business jobs," Boehner spokesman Michael Steel said in a statement.

I take back what I said about Boehner's mother.

Breaking: In Historic Vote, Senate Passes ENDA 64-32 | The New Civil Rights Movement

In an early afternoon press conference, Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer took his colleagues in the House to task over their inaction.

“The House seems to be the place where bipartisan Senate legilsation goes to die,” the Senator from New York bemoaned, noting if House Republicans don’t allow a vote on ENDA, they will “be sending their party straight to oblivion.” He called the House a “black hole” and lamented all the bills the Senate has passed that the House refuses to address.

Schumer also took a shot at John Boehner, the Speaker of the House. “Everyone talks about gridlock in Washington,” Schumer said. “It rests with one man, Speaker Boehner.”

If ENDA were to become law, it would protect LGBT people specifically, but all persons of discrimination in the workplace based on sexual orientation or gender identity. The first anti-discrimination bill based on sexual orientation was introduced in 1974. ENDA, in one form or another, has been introduced in every Congress except one since 1994.

Damn, did I call that or what!
Fortunately it will die in the House, where saner heads prevail.

Per my Senator Klobuchar;

BREAKING: Senate just passed Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) 64 to 32 to finally stop workplace discrimination against LGBT employees. The bill's bipartisan support is another step forward in the fight for equality, but now we need to press the House to pass this critical legislation so that LGBT Americans can't be fired based on their sexual orientation. Twenty-nine states still allow people to be fired simply because they are gay! Our country must move forward.

Amy Klobuchar is a moron.
