The slaughter of l.5 million Armenians by the Turkish Government(Meds Leghern) is now recognized for the first time by a American President...Donald Trump...something Obama refused to do....and why was that?

Could it be he once again obama wanted to protect muslims?

. On April 24, 1915, the Armenian genocide began. That day, the Turkish government arrested and executed several hundred Armenian intellectuals. After that, ordinaryArmenians were turned out of their homes and sent on death marches through the Mesopotamian desert without food or water.

Obama Commemorates 'Meds Yeghern' with Statement

Below is the full text of the statement issued by President Barack Obama on Armenian Remembrance Day, April 24, 2013. To read the ANCA’s response click here.

Today we commemorate the Meds Yeghern and honor those who perished in one of the worst atrocities of the 20th century. Ninety-eight years ago, 1.5 million Armenians were massacred or marched to their deaths in the final days of the Ottoman Empire. We pause to reflect on the lives extinguished and remember the unspeakable suffering that occurred. In so doing, we are joined by millions across the world and in the United States, where it is solemnly commemorated by our states, institutions, communities, and families. We also remind ourselves of our commitment to ensure that such dark chapters of history are not repeated.

I have consistently stated my own view of what occurred in 1915, and my view has not changed. A full, frank, and just acknowledgement of the facts is in all of our interests. Nations grow stronger by acknowledging and reckoning with painful elements of the past, thereby building a foundation for a more just and tolerant future. We appreciate this lesson in the United States, as we strive to reconcile some of the darkest moments in our own history. We recognize those courageous Armenians and Turks who have already taken this path, and encourage more to do so, with the backing of their governments, and mine.

The history and legacy of the Armenian people is marked by an indomitable spirit, and a great resiliency in the face of tremendous adversity and suffering. The United States is stronger for the contributions Armenian-Americans have made to our society, our culture, and our communities. In small measure we return that contribution by supporting the Armenian people as they work toward building a nation that would make their ancestors proud: one that cherishes democracy and respect for human liberty and dignity.

Today we stand with Armenians everywhere in recalling the horror of the Meds Yeghern, honoring the memory of those lost, and affirming our enduring commitment to the people of Armenia.

Top Obama aides ‘sorry’ they did not recognize Armenian genocide
Ben Rhodes and Samantha Power, key foreign policy advisers to Obama, say his administration was too worried about offending Turkey.

By NAHAL TOOSI

Two top aides to former President Barack Obama say his administration failed by not officially declaring that the mass slaughter of Armenians roughly 100 years ago constituted genocide — a topic that threatens America’s fragile relationship with Turkey.

"It was a mistake," said Ben Rhodes, who served as a deputy national security adviser in the Obama administration. "We should have recognized the Armenian genocide."

"I'm sorry," added Samantha Power, Obama's ambassador to the United Nations. "I'm sorry that we disappointed so many Armenian Americans."

The two shared their regrets earlier this week in response to an audience question during an episode of Pod Save the World, a podcast hosted by Tommy Vietor, another former Obama aide. Their statements were unusually frank given the sensitivity of an issue that has bedeviled U.S. presidents for years.

Right, they didn't recognize it.... then they apologized for not recognizing it... then they did recognize it, year after year, on the observed anniversary.

Sorry man, you just whiffed this time. Better luck next time!

and wtf does naked chicks on a cross being crucified have to do with Armenians which were starved, exposed to the elements and physical abuse to mention executions by hanging ???

The pic above of the crucified Armenian girls is from a 1919 film depicting the cruelty metted upon a group of 19 teenage Armenian Christian girls who were gang raped by Muslim soldeirs of the Ottoman state.

The movie did not however depict the gruesome killing as even for today's desensitized world of Internet gore , the gruesome murder of these young girls by Muslim soldeirs will make any die hard gore viewer turn away in appalling disgust.

The actuall narrative goes that these young girls after suffering the most debased form of sexual torture and rape at the hands of Turkish Muslim soldeirs where later impaled on a cross and a spike driven into their private parts.

Death came slowly but painfully with the Muslim soldeirs gleefully laughing at them.

Why on Earth would you think that? By what evidence? Is that why Reagan didn't mention it? Obama eventually did. Many times. You have a big, huge hole in your logic, my man.

Once again............the point being that President Trump was the first and only American President to recognize the Armenian massacre by using the term the Armenians use for that massacre.... Geez....why do I keep having to go over something that should have been so obvious?

Wait, that is not what you said, originally. That is the first time you have used the word "genocide" in that claim.

And you're still wrong, because Trump did not use the word "genocide".

Seriously man, you just whiffed this time.

You don't have to convince me, I say it's genocide.
